Seller Ignoring Warranty emails
Really frustrated with a seller who advertises a 5-year warranty on laptop batteries but ignores my 4 emails asking how I can make a warranty claim. The battery lasted 4 months and caused me to run Windows repair on the laptop when it failed. The vendor uses the email of passon-fruit-4u and has a 99% plus rating so I am shocked by their actions. Apparently, eBay feels its ok for the seller to make false claims to the warranty. Its to late to get the credit card company involved. eBay customer service is a total joke and gives me excuse after excuse on why they can’t help. Does anyone one has an idea on this other than I am screwed by this eBay vendor?

·2 years agoeBay has a warranty policy.
It explains the seller has to have the full text of the warranty or how to get a copy of the warranty in the listing. Then the details of how to obtain warranty service is known before you bid.
If you don't see that then I wouldn't bid because it could be the seller is not an authorized distributor and no way to force them to fix it.
Glad it worked out. It could've been worse.

·2 years agoIf it had a warranty, it would be through the manufacture.
Follow the warranty information that should have been on/in the package.

OP2 years agoThanks for your reply. The problem was the seller did not supply information on the manufacture, how to file a warranty claim or how to contact them. Sick of China not suppling instructions, manufacturer info or even installation info. Thankfully I found install info on YouTube. Going back to Amazon. It may cost a little more but their support has always been able to resolve the info and/or contact the seller. I had to file a complaint with the BBB to get this resolved.

Everything in an eBay description does not matter except the Money Back Garentee eBay themselves offer. eBay does not nesseairly encforce warranty but does protect against defective or items not as described
30 calendar days after the estimated or actual delivery date or within the seller's stated returns window, whichever is longer. Source:(https://www.ebay.com/help/policies/ebay-money-back-guarantee-policy/ebay-money-back-guarantee-policy?id=4210#section3)
Im sorry to hear there were no warranty manuals or information your seller gave. In my opinion as a tech guy, go OEM or authorized retailer for computer parts on eBay here if you are looking for a laptop battery. I have used aftermarket batteries and sometimes the computer will either not read percentage right, or the battery does not work at all

The eBay MBG is 30 days. A few eBay sellers offer 60-days and that is that.
You have to buy from a manufacturer or authorized Distributor to receive any type of lengthy warranty past 30 or maybe 60 days in some cases.
The manufacturers and distributors for the most part are not selling on eBay.
5 year warranty is a crock.

OP2 years agoThanks for your reply. The problem is as originally stated. The seller advertises a 5 year warranty but did not supply any info regarding if a warranty issue is required, who the manufacturer is or how to contact them. The seller displays "5 Year Warranty", next to the battery. The seller is implying they are backing up the warranty. After I contacted the BBB, this issue was resolved with a refund.
