Excessive shipping charges on shipping label printed on ebay: no correction possible
On july 23, I bought a Fed-Ex shipping label on ebay for a box containing a jukebox amplifier 16X10X6 inch, weight 18 pounds, going from Montreal area in Canada to NewJersey, a distance of 400 miles , cost of the label US $32.00. Delivered on july 27th. On august 6th, ebay chaged on my credit card C $166.42 (about US $125.00). When I saw that while checking my card statement a few days later I called Fed-Ex. They told me they could not give me any informations. Their customer is ebay. I was told to contact ebay. I called ebay. They could not give me any informations. The teammate tried to make me understand that ebay cannot be held responsible because they print the label and I just had to accept the charge as received, without expecting any justification. I insisted, and he finally opened a case. I was supposed to receive an answer within a week. 2 weeks later I still have not received a return. We just talk of an overcharge of US $93.00. Something similar happened to me last fall for a return from California and I never had my money back. ebay say they make us a good favour to save on shipping cost, but whatever the carryer charge them, it might be $500, no way we can have it corrected, we have to pay. Another thing. When we buy the label, there is no way to print it. We would have to take photos of the screen. It is even impossible to know why there is such an extra charge!
