Developer registration rejected, appeal auto-rejected within minutes. Can someone escalate?
Hi all,
My eBay Developers Program registration was rejected with the generic message: "Your account registration was rejected due to problems with the data provided or other irregularities."
I submitted an appeal through Developer Account Support ("My account registration was rejected"). Within a couple of minutes I got an email from dev-relations saying the request "does not meet the criteria required for activation" under internal eligibility and risk controls. It came back so fast that I don't think anyone read the appeal.
About me and the use case:
- eBay username: tydude001
- Registering as an individual, not a business
- Personal, non-commercial project: a small app on my home server that catalogs my own steelbook Blu-ray collection
- Only needs the Browse API (item_summary/search) with an application token, to look up current asking prices by UPC or title for items I own
- Read-only and low volume: no listing, buying or selling, no user OAuth, and no eBay user data stored
I'm happy to verify my identity or correct any registration field that didn't match my eBay account, but the rejection doesn't say what the problem was.
Could someone from eBay Developer Relations take a manual look, or tell me what I should do differently if I reapply?
Thanks!
