Hi eBay Developer Support / Community Moderators,
I'm trying to register for the eBay Developers Program to build a small personal, non-commercial tool for my own use — searching eBay listings and displaying the listing's origin/creation date via the Browse API (read-only, item_summary/search / get_item_by_legacy_id). No listing, selling, buying, or messaging automation involved, and no data redistribution.
My registration was rejected immediately with the generic message:
"Your account registration was rejected due to problems with the data provided or other irregularities."
I then submitted the "My account registration was rejected" form and received the standard automated reply about "internal eligibility and risk controls" with no specific reason given.
A few details in case they help with review:
I'm not using a VPN — normal home network
My registration details are accurate and consistent
I'm registering with a free email provider (not a custom domain) — I've seen mentions that this can sometimes trigger the automated filter, so flagging it in case that's relevant here
This is a genuinely personal project, not commercial, not competing with eBay, not for price aggregation or data resale
Could a moderator or Developer Support staff member take a manual look at my registration and either approve it or let me know what specifically needs correcting? Happy to provide any additional verification needed.

I had the same issue, registered with 3 Gmail address' all the same thing. I vaguely remembered a mailer service doing this and their docs state that you cannot register with a public email domain (@gmail.com). With this in mind I used one of my custom domains (admin@mydomain.com) and wouldnt you know it i was accepted and got a welcome email this morning.
Its unfortunate that ebay uses automated responses with no information or context when trying to register. Hopefully this will help you and others.
