Application rejected – seeking guidance on how to properly re-apply for API access
Good day,
I recently tried to register for the eBay Developers Program and received a rejection message saying there were “problems with the data provided or other irregularities.” I’m not sure what specifically caused it and would appreciate any guidance.
I’m building a small, independent tool for video game collectors. The goal is to help people see current market prices for games (including physical copies) across multiple sources so they can make more informed buying and selling decisions. eBay is one of the most important places collectors actually buy and sell games, so having proper API access would let me show accurate, up-to-date eBay listings instead of sending people to search manually.
I’m not looking to scrape or do anything against the rules — I want to use the official API the right way, respect rate limits, and properly attribute everything. The app is still early and private (only a handful of testers).
Could someone point me to what usually causes a registration to be rejected, or what information I should make sure is correct when I re-apply? Happy to provide more details about the project if needed.
Thank you.
