·1 year agoThank You meme. I live "out in the sticks" and lose track of the calender when it comes to Memorial Day or Labor Day etc.
It seems as if all too many do take the sacrifices made by others and the ensuing freedoms for granted. I'm not one of them.
Your post both humbles me and gives me a sense of pride and thankfulness for the untimate sacrifice many have made for us.
You have a safe and happy weekend as well....................

Sadly, their great sacrifices have been mostly forgotten. Consider this:
The US lost over 400,000 soldiers in WWII as we fought with Britain and France to defeat and destroy fascism.
The idea of another war in Europe was unthinkable to those Americans who came of age in the 1920s, 30s, 40s and 50s and who went on to fill important foreign- and defense-policy roles.
Following the war, the US went on to spend untold billions of dollars to help defend Europe from the "Soviet menace."
After the USSR collapsed in 1991, some US policy makers thought it would be a good idea to expand NATO all the way up to the borders of the newly-established Russian Federation... and to launch all manner of covert military training programs inside the newly-independent Ukraine.
Mostly to irritate and provoke Moscow, as the US had no vital interest in Ukraine, other than as a geopolitical pawn.
Today, there is -- in my personal assessment -- a bloody and un-winnable war raging in Europe as a result.
PS: Bravo to Mr. Trump for endeavoring to end the war... but the only way that will happen is if the US acknowledges Russian geopolitical preeminence in its own backyard -- a highly risky move, now that Russia has converted much of its manufacturing base to a wartime footing.
Nor do we want to signal China that we have a somewhat diluted US interest in Taiwan.

OP1 year agoSome great important information, But I can't give any bravo's to Trump, He is not concerned enough & if & when there are suitable agreement's, It will not be enough, Putin will never end until he get's what he wants & Trump is to easy on him.

Nicholasfather lived until 81 years of age and never got over his brother’s death.
