Like a bad penny " johnrj1226" is Back
Spent the from Sept 1 to Oct 14 in a hospital (aka Hotel California( C surgery). All is fine - home now, head a bit clearer, doing PT, getting stronger every day. Hard to keep this vintage Swede /Italian down. --- has several significant scares front and back of scare and many other collect over the the lat 8 decades.
Some folks might say Oh Nooo!!! - that is OK everyone is welcome to their. Been a follower of that old adage "sticks and stones will break my bones...... since I was knee high to a grasshopper.
My Lone Star Lady or "She Who Must be Obeyed' is ready the trow me out with the dis water year.Obeyed.'In fewer words "I'll Be BacK" Soon

PS: On the positive side am the same weight was when I graduated WMU _K'zoo, Mi. on Dec. 166, 1967 - = 1945 lbs.. But gravity moved my chest to my belt line

PSS: For the record the C was stage 1 - as a previous smoker have an annual low does CT scan every year - insurance covers is since 2009 - recommend all do it

OP9 months agoNo wonder I didn't laugh the 9 days I spent in London, Leighton Buzzard and Dunstable in 1979. But did understand the meaning and necessity of Saturday night baths, ladies with lots of arm pit growth and that the word "Yank" wasn't a baseball team. But enjoyed the history and an immediate dislike of kippers.
One more thing I did discover that "Piccadilly Circus" was not a place to be entertained with animals but rather the the blokes that were sitting on the stairs'

After London's "Great" Britain Beer Festival, all the brewery presidents decided to go out and celebrate.
The guy from Corona sits down and sez, 'Hey Senor, I would like thee world's bestest beer-- a Corona pleeeze' --The bartender dusts off a bottle from the shelf and geeves it to heem.
The guy from Budweiser says, 'I'd like the best beer in the world, give me 'The King Of Beers'-- throw me Bud, Buddy.'--The bartender grits his teeth and lobs him a cold one.
The guy from Coors, having shaken the the Union rabble from his entourage says, "I'd like the only Right-to-Work beer made with Rocky Mountain spring water! Toss me some Colorado joy!!."--And he gets it!
The guy from Guinness sits down and says, "Ahm... I'll just have a Coke-- Classic, please..."
The bartender, a bit taken aback, gives him a bottle of the best cola ever.
The other brewery presidents, startled at that order, mutter, almost in unison: "Ya'rn't drinking a Guinness?!?'
"Well, I fig'r'ed if ya Lad's aren't drinking a beer, needer wu'd I...'

OP10 months agoCan't wait to go to my "Man Caves" - my garage with 2 work benches and 1.5 acre lot with lots of trees and 12K of of St. Augustine lawn.and islands.and help my neighbors. Great places to hide from "She Who Must Be Obeyed"

Walked into the ER on the morning of October 25th(2021) after driving myself TO the Hospital after having a Heart Attack the night before, thought I just had Covid and it hit me hard the night before. $1 Million Dollar Surgery and 6 weeks later, walked out on December 11th, had to use a walker, but I went out as I went in, walking. Recovery is hell, but Survivable. You got this. ðŸ‘

OP9 months agoTo each their own. Personally like to keep a PMA** every since this '44 model was knee high to a grasshopper. Had my more than my fair share of bumps in the road along my journey.

OP10 months agoStarted my exercising the day after surgery - the incisions were in my back. With Docs OK. Been thru muscle, etc lose before.
