Very serious if some of these allegations are true. Likely nothing comes of it and it gets swept under the rug. I've never been a fan of the lack of transparency when it comes to the metrics and promoted listings, etc. and accusations like this from former employees don't help.

The new any click promoted listed fee is illegal, there's no other way of putting it. "Advertising services rendered" definition has been molested and they should be held accountable

·2 months agoYou may be on to something. Though I will say the AI monster that's eating everyone's listings appears to be pretty indiscriminate (and stupid), rather than sneaky. I suspect it will just keep gobbling things up, rather than trying to hide things where no one will ever find them.
This whole thread reminds of a little girl who snuck a book to bed and casually shoved it under her mattress when her dad cracked her bedroom door to see if she was asleep.

·2 months agoThat's exactly what they did. I'm noticing more and more of this sort of random zapping for no clear reason. I'm guessing there may be some fresh meat, enthusiastically keeping an eye on things just to make sure we know there's a new sheriff in town. 🤠

Instead it gets buried in sub category, after sub category, after sub category, after subcategory. ebay Groups>Special Interest Groups>ebay Friends>Ebay Cafe?

·2 months agoLOL who is surprised to see this? They just dinged me for a sale yesterday that was completed mid-April. Methinks the powers that be are scrambling to scoop up whatever they can before the hammer really comes down.
I'm looking forward to seeing this particular form of abuse from the platform unravel. For anyone who says it's not going to happen, consider Amazon's losses (2.5 billion is nothing to sneeze at).

·2 months agoI think we're going to be seeing lots of posts like this up until the FTC comes in and (appropriately) kicks the platform in its proverbial backside. They're chasing every nickel they can right now.
I look forward to the refunds.
