Amazon punished me for buying a Computer Case
I'm an Amazon Prime member and on Sunday I purchased a H6 NZXT Computer Case for 134.99. It was supposed to be at my house today but on Monday I tried to Cancel my order because the same model case I bought, just a much bigger version H9 was being advertised for the same price 134.99.
I kept clicking the cancellation button numerous times on monday to no avail. On Tuesday (today) I noticed they moved my delivery date to Friday and didn't cancel my order.
Prime isn't worth it people. It's just not worth it !

·8 months agoIt is appalling that the OP, an eBay seller, has zero empathy for the 3rd party business selling on Amazon. They will take a loss on:
a) The original shipping cost
b) Possible return shipping cost
c) The labor to process the original shipment
d) The labor to process the return
e) Possible restocking fees for FBA or Fulfilled by Amazon

OP8 months agoMy new bigger case is White but I'm starting to think i prefer black. When it arrives do you think i should return it again for a black one ?

·8 months agoI'm picturing what it would be like to dine with you at a restaurant. I just hope you're the kind of customer who leaves a huge tip for servers putting up with all the chain-yanking.

·8 months agoBefore you click to return it, you should check the price of the black one. Sometimes different (more popular) color means different (higher) price. I'd hate for you to return the white one only to find out the Black one is more expensive then rebuy the white one again.

TBH, as a seller with over 500 listings and someone who has made more than a few posts complaining about buyers, you have a nerve to do this to any seller. Shame on you.

OP8 months agoYimminy Crickets It did arrive today and the most God awful strangest thing happened.
I ordered the bigger case and i hit the RETURN button and i get a message.
Are you sure you want to return this ? Are you really really sure ?
I thought to myself well i didn't open it and i do want the bigger one so Yes I'm sure.
Because we here at Amazon want to give you a last chance. Why don't you keep hmm let's say 40 dollars and you keep the one we sent you. Oh Boy
I don't see people abusing this kind of system. No wonder Ebay sales are so nonexistent. They're giving away Money at Amazon.
I was like you keep your Bribery money and I hit the RETURN button. Just give me what i want okay. It felt very dirty.

·8 months agoSo basically it's an automatic partial refund offer after you clicked to return?

OP8 months agoYEP !!! PURE EVIL 👹👺 AN AUTOMATIC PARTIAL RETURN WHAT HAS THIS WORLD COME TOOOOOO...;

·8 months agoI am still wondering what this world is coming to when an Amazon buyer can post an Amazon problem here and the discussion can continue on for three pages (or more).

·8 months ago@soh.maryl It appears to happen one reply at a time. Like this^ one for instance. 🤣

·8 months ago@iamalwaysright @nh_sales_lv Even if it played out exactly as described, with the message appearing instantly upon hitting the return button, that doesn't mean this is an Amazon-wide response to every return filed. You know how people out in social media and whatever talk about how they bought an item "on eBay" or "from eBay" rather than "from a seller on eBay"? -It's very often the same thing with Amazon. Even though (unlike eBay) they do sell some items directly, a large portion of their sales are through 3rd party sellers just like here.
For all you know, this computer case was sold by a 3P seller, and they have a PERSONAL setting where as soon as a buyer opens a return, they are offered a partial refund instead. If that was the standard protocol for everything sold on Amazon, the abuse would be so rampant they'd have gone out of business long ago.

·8 months agoI have, in the past, been able to cancel my Prime Orders after they are on the Amazon Logistics Truck.
I would not expect that to be the case between Black Friday and Christmas.

·8 months agoYou have to be sure before you place orders. It's hard to find it once it's in the stream of outgoing packages so, that can't pull it out. It's made worse by the speed they try to process orders with.
tobaccocardyahoo
·8 months agoBusiness has been good on Amazon and so good that many shipments have been delayed or have shipped by slower carriers than Amazon Logistics. Lots of things are harder to deal with, this time of year.
I have seen an increase in two day deliveries over my normal one day delivery with prime. Even had a couple of deliveries where the last mile was handled by USPS, which had become uncommon.
My condo complex has been only having two separate deliveries each day instead of three.
Every time I leave my house to travel anywhere, I encounter an electric Amazon truck. Often blocking a traffic lane.

Start any topic and they will pounce!

OP8 months agoI'm just going to keep what i ordered because they Commited me. Why even have a Cancel Order button at all. Seems rather strange
gurlcat
·8 months ago@nh_sales_lv Well I'm all for dissing Amazon, but any time you think "There isn't a place to discuss (basically anything)" .... I'm about to rock your world. There is a wonderland of every kind of discussion forum you can imagine, and it's called Reddit. For example here's a whole forum with 18 thousand weekly visitors who want to discuss, in no uncertain terms, how lousy Amazon is.

·8 months agoGive me a break.
You commited yourself to it when you chose the item, ordered it, and paid for it.
Amazon gives buyers a short window to cancel an unshipped order when a mistake was made.
But you did not make a mistake, you developed buyer remorse after committing yourself, and you are somehow blaming Amazon for not accommodating your change of heart.
I really dislike the "buy it and then decide later whether I really want it" culture that seems to have evolved online.

I keep looking at the title of your thread and still can't figure out how Amazon punished you. What kind of punishment did they dole out to you? You had a remorse buy which had already shipped and they couldn't cancel it.
The easiest way to have handled this, since the computer case had already been shipped, would have been to go ahead and order the second case and then when you got the first one back, to return it for a refund. Amazon is pretty easy to return things to and this would have kept everything straight.

If you feel that way, then I would suggest you not buy anything else on Amazon. Simple solution.
FWIW, I'm very happy with my Prime account. But I have never tried to cancel an order that's been shipped either and doubt that I would. I'd wait for it to be delivered and then return it.
luckythewinner
·8 months agoIf an eBay item has already shipped, most eBay sellers won't cancel your transaction either. You have to wait until it arrives and return it.
nh_sales_lv
OP8 months agoI wait for payment processing to be completed and anything before then i cancel. Sometimes my stuff can be serious lbs. and i dread to think the back and forth stuff would be going on. People make mistakes sometime, I don't feel it's fair to Commit them.

·8 months agoSo what do YOU do when someone buys something from you then wants to cancel after it's already been shipped?
luckythewinner
·8 months agoNo buyer is ever committed to an eBay purchase until the window for filing a SNAD dispute has passed 🙂

·8 months agoYou should thank your lucky stars that restocking fees are no longer here.

·8 months agoAs an eBay seller, not only will I not cancel the transaction but I’ll likely ignore your messages depending on the tone, and if it’s anything like the one in your OP then you know.
I’ll also make it as difficult and slow as possible for you to return the item and get a refund, keep the original shipping charge for the remorse return filed, report you for being abusive if you filed a not as described, and block you from buying from me again. Obviously I won’t tell you any of this so you won’t even know. None of that method is against eBay policy. And based on what is mentioned in the OP, I will likely get any negative feedback I receive removed. Just so you know, that’s how some eBay sellers roll. Still hating on Amazon because of this or just buying online in general?
soh.maryl
·8 months agoIt seems like the OP has wandered over to eBay to complain about an Amazon transaction.
Does not seem to involve an eBay purchase at all.
