Hello eBay Team,I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction and serious concern regarding the newly announced Promoted Listings attribution model scheduled for January 2026.This new approach â€” where a sale is considered â€œattributedâ€ and charged an ad fee because any buyer clicked on the listing within the past 30 days, even if the actual buyer never interacted with an ad â€” is fundamentally NOT FAIR to sellers.Under this system, an organic sale can be turned into a paid sale solely because someone else clicked on the ad weeks earlier. This means:If a returning customer purchases an item from their past orders, watchlist, direct search, or saved items WITHOUT clicking an adâ€¦And if ANY other user clicked on the ad within the last 30 daysâ€¦I still get charged an ad fee.This completely breaks the logic of advertising attribution. The buyer who actually purchased the item did not use the ad. The ad did not influence their purchase. Yet the seller is still charged.This is NOT IMPROVED REPORTING.This is NO ADDED VALUE.This is simply increasing seller costs without providing any additional benefit.Sellers are being asked to pay more for the same service, while losing control over their own ad spend and conversion value. We already accept paying for ad-driven traffic â€” but charging for clearly organic sales is UNREASONABLE and ERODES TRUST.I urge eBay to reconsider this policy before rollout.
