·8 months agoWow, you must be doing a land-office business to have signed up for $100/day. I would love to be at that level.
If you spent $200/day for two weeks or so, did you see a big increase in sales?

·8 months ago@gphwheels sorry to say you will not get your money back, what you are describing is exactly how Promoted Stores and also Priority cost per click ads work.
Previously, these campaigns operated on a weekly budget pacing with daily budget targets, but eBay changed the policy last year to move them to monthly budget pacing - either way, how your budget actually gets used stays the same.

The "target daily budget" is just that, a target, not a hard limit, and the terms say it can go up to double your daily budget on some days, less on others, with the idea it will average out over a 30.4 day period.
So for example if you set your daily target at $10, the maximum total spend for the month will be no more than $304 ($10 x 30.4) but how that gets used across each day can change - some days it might be $12, others it might be $8 etc. with the maximum on any single day being $20 (double the $10 target).
eBay's justification is it allows them to maximize your budget on "high opportunity" days while spending less on other days and keeping the same total monthly budget.
In reality what usually ends up happening is that it maxes out your total budget early in the month, then "nudges" you to increase the budget to keep your ads being displayed, ratcheting up what you're willing to spend over time - as you've just found out through experience.

OP8 months agoSo if I really wanted to just spend $100 per day I should only put $50 for my campaign. Ahhh, the small print no one reads....
