Promoted Listings...how is this working now?
This morning I noticed that 496 of my listings were no longer Promoted, I then checked out my active Campaigns and saw that there were only 29 Promoted. So, I did hear about the changes, but I have some questions:
1) Are promoted listings going to cost more now than before?
2) If I have an active campaign, with a set percentage, can I add all my missing lsitings, or do I need to make a new Campaign?
3)How has the return been for other sellers?
thanks--Lou

·7 months agoIf I were a betting man, I would bet that most people are more "cost-conscious" now than they were a year ago. Therefore, it's price that matters more than impulse which drives sponsored (promoted) sales. 😉

OP7 months agoThanks, this has been very helpful. I think I might only promote in certain categories, because some are highly competitive. Appreciate the input.

·7 months agoNew rule is if anyone clicks the sponsored link, even if its not the actual buyer, you will be charged the promotion fee that you have chosen. So its best to assume now that any listing promoted will be charged the fee. The fees wont cost any more, you can set them at whatever percent you want. And you can add new items to the promotion at any time. I feel the promotion is really only good for items or categories that there are a lot of competition. But, as the poster stated above, buyers only want the cheapest deal!

2) Yes, you can add missing listings to your campaign
Before you only paid "promotion fee" if your BUYER clicked on promoted listing and made purchase. New rules, you will have to pay promoted fee (if ANYONE in the world clicked on your promoted listing). This means you will probably be paying promotion fee for every "promoted item" that sells.
When I cancelled my promoted listing, I had "more views". Customer don't care if your items are promoted or not, they just want cheapest price.
