"Starting January 13, 2026, for items listed on ebay.com, ebay.ca, and cafr.ebay.ca (and currently for items listed on ebay.co.uk, ebay.de, ebay.com.au, ebay.fr, ebay.it, and ebay.es): eBay will report an Attributed sale from a general campaign when a buyer purchases the same item that was featured in the ad that was clicked on by any buyer in the most recent 30 days.'
The ad fee is charged when a buyer purchases the promoted item from a general ad that any buyer clicked on in the most recent 30 days. The item must be promoted at the time of click and the time of sale. The ad fee is based on the ad rate in effect at the time of the sale.
I dont agree with this policy change. Its not promoted listings if you are charging us for listings that someone has not clicked on to buy (organic listings). Another corprate grab at money because there are organic listings where the seller makes money not attributed to Ebay. Now Ebay is going after the organic listings. Just be honest and transparant about what you are doing.

·10 months agoI’ve been in eBay for 24 years. Since 2023 sales are failing drastically, this year are 70% down compare to last year. 2024 I’ve started promo at dynamic rates 9-18% which is huge. It worked for couple of months and stopped. Now we are in October and sales non- existent. Impressions are down 60%, which means that EBay is not showing my listing to buyers despite of dynamic advertising. Can anyone explain why it is happening?

·10 months agoDepends what you are selling, how you're pricing it, and so many other factors. I don't think anyone can pinpoint the exact reason that it's happening to YOU.
For me, sales are about the same as last year.

·10 months agoPromoted listing fees have always been a tad obscure. There is no way for us to know if some potential buyer intentionally clicked on an ad or clicked by mistake on the messy Ebay pages. This will not change my use of the minimum PL rating of 2% for most of my sales. But it will further solidify my generic mistrust of corporate America. These folks simply can not be trusted. There is a reason that combatting greed lies at the core of many world religions.

·10 months agoHonestly, I would like to stop using promoted listings due to this change. It's completely unfair and I have a feeling ebay will see a class action lawsuit at some point as a result of this.
That being said, what's best for my business isn't always what feels right. Right now, a third of my sales come from promoted listings. I'd be shooting myself in the foot if I opted out. So for me, the best course of action is to simply raise my prices by the 2% I'm paying for my listings to be promoted.
Yes it is a money grab. But you have two options here:
1.) Stop using promoted listings out of pure principle, and live with fewer sales and income.
2.) Keep using promoted listings and adjust your prices accordingly
Ultimately you will need to decide what is best for you at the end of the day. It is a numbers game.

·10 months agoI think most of my items would eventually sell without the promoted listings. However, if I can sell them more quickly, that's advantageous to my business as time is money, and a lot of my items are quite bulky. Working out of a 2BR apartment means I don't want to hold onto items for months.

·10 months agoIt sort of feels similar to things that are going on in the country right now. We feel outrage at first, but then get used to it, so the next outrageous thing isn't noticed as much or is accepted as normal. Rinse and repeat.

What law do you think eBay is breaking? Class action lawsuits must have a basis in law, not just "I don't think it is fair".
