@hot-lunch excellent suggestions. I wish common sense things sellers want would be focused on rather than some of the things they change. They really need to offer better shipping discounts to be competitive with other platforms.
Did anyone promoting at a low % notice on the traffic page that after 1/13/26 attribution rules change your promoted views went down? Mine went from the 20% range to the low teens. I general promoting at 2.6%. I'm not sure that it's worth promoting at all at this level and I refuse to go higher. Of course the promoted sales are up in the 80% range now. So I'm getting worse results but paying the extra fee more often. 😕
Price competitively: Use the eBay research tool or view recently sold listings. (Product Research consistently shows search results completely different from the recently sold results. Something is wrong. Update the eBay app with a research mode or offer a dedicated "seller app" to make researching faster and more accurate)
Write a relevant title: Include keywords specific to the item and organize them in a legible order.
Write a helpful description: Start by generating an AI description and then add key item details. (After having to offer a refund because I missed the inaccurate information included in an AI description, I can't use that again.)
Add more photos: Add at least 4 unique, high-quality photos. Try videos too! (How about making it possible to upload a video from the phone app? Surely most people are shooting videos with their phones.)
Provide item specifics: Select the right category and include as many details as possible.
Appeal to potential buyers: Allow offers, provide free shipping, and decrease handling time. (So price competitively and then send the item for free to a buyer who offers you even less?)
There is nothing new being announced here , so I'm not sure why it is classified as an "Announcement". Also, frankly, if this is ebay's idea of a "deep dive", well....sorry, but it seems to be pretty shallow to me.
But hey, I'm just passing this on, because I know not everyone checks the announcements, and because the Community Team's "featured posts"---over there on the right>>>> are still from 2025, so you can't rely on that section to get updates. LOL

It explains why it is ineffective, without actually saying so, because its focus is at the category level.
Those of use who sell items which are a tiny part of the listings in a category, do not get the predicted results.
