Charged a Promoted Listing Fee After Buyer Canceled Immediately
I sold an item through a promoted listing, and within minutes the buyer canceled saying they “clicked by mistake.†I immediately refunded, but eBay still charged me the Promoted Listing fee, even though the sale didn’t go through.
Customer service told me this charge still applies because the item was promoted, which doesn’t make sense. I have over $30,000 in inventory listed and asked for help, but their answer was simply to remove my promoted listings.
So instead of fixing an obvious issue, eBay charged me for something that never sold. I’ve ended all my listings. Sellers deserve better support than this.

·7 months agoThat's a fee credit though isn't it? I presume they didn't refund your credit card or bank account.

·7 months agoI just had the same issue. Were you able to resolve this with eBay? I'm been a seller for 27 years and just removed several listings and may just quit eBay. Between the AI chat bots and the useless call center it's not worth it anymore. Good luck.

·11 months agoI always received credit on fees including promoted fees when I’ve refunded or cancelled transactions. It’s not immediate but you do get credit. Look in your recent transactions. The credited amount will be in black. You don’t receive a notification on it.
