DOLL - No marks so I'm at a loss
I volunteer at an American Cancer Society Thrift store and do pricing on some things. I know nothing about dolls really and was wondering if someone here could help me, and the cause. She measures about 22", has a cloth body with porcelain head and hands. Kid leather at knees. Glued on wig. Photos attached. Thanks for looking!

I think what you have is a very modified antique Kestner bisque head doll. The body would have originally been entirely kid leather with bisque hands and feet. The dress and wig are modern, but the shoes may be original. It looks like the wig has been glued down. If you can gently lift it at the neck you'll reveal the maker's mark. If the glue is stubborn try a little non-acetone nail polish remover. Even as modified as she is the head has value.

OP10 months agoThank you so much. No marks at all on neck. You gave me lots to research, very fun. Our doll has much more recent than the Kestner dolls I saw online. Thx again.

·10 months agoPossibly a Kestner German doll. Usually dolls have a brand or some marking on the back of the neck.
