Doll material?
Hi I woul like to know what material this doll is made of and the age if possible, there are no markings on the doll that I can see, the doll is located in Australia and may have been made here. The photo is so a damaged hand. Thanks in advance Dean.

It's a mixture of sawdust, glue, and other materials such as cornstarch, resin, and wood flour, covered with a layer of a glue-like substance. Compo dolls had their height of popularity in the 1930s and 40s, so it's likely the doll dates from that period.
