Shipping empty cigar boxes
Can anybody tell me the best way to ship an empty cigar box? Shipping is killing me on these things. New to this hope this isnt a dumb question.

·1 year agoUSPS Ground Advantage. You can get by with smaller packages and less effort to bullet proof than UPS or FEDEX Ground, Do not take advantage of price deals on FEDEX or UPS unless you are going to bullet proof your packaging - handling is much rougher than USPS most of the time, especially by FEDEX Ground.
Do not lot your cigar boxes in lots which when you pack go in a big enough box to require dimensional weight unless they are big lots of more than a few boxes.

·2 years agoIf it 's profitable to sell "one of" items then you simply need to include a shipping fee in the selling cost and let the buyer shoulder that cost. We sell antiques and the shipping costs are sometimes higher than the value of the item so it's all on the buyer. Ebay keeps telling us our sales would go up if we shipped for "free", but if we did we'd soon be broke. We charge the actual shipping cost as eBay calculates it, and on occasion we add to the weight or add a dollar amount to compensate us for packing materials. We have found it helps to sell multiple items at one time to get a better shipping cost for the customer. As in, the cost for shipping three wine glasses is the same as for shipping one. Hope that thinking helps.

·2 years agoThere's no "cheap" way to ship anything these days. You can compare the various shipping companies (UPS, FedEx, USPS) to see the discount eBay may be offering on any of them at any given time. It looks like you're selling wood boxes and not asking much for them so you'd have to evaluate whether the few dollars you're making is worth the effort.
