Old 45’s
I have a record book of old 45’s. Different genres. Probably from the 50’ and 60’s.
all of them have been in sleeves for years.
id like to sell them but have no idea of the value.

·2 months ago@lisa479124 my opinion is similar to @christworks as to the value, but I have strong reservations about using Ebay sales data to determine value.
IMO the definitive site for record prices is often discogs, and discogs prices are often much lower than Ebay prices because record buyers and sellers who are serious about collecting know and rely on the site. Ebay gets a lot of amateur buyers and sellers and often makes impulse sales at prices which are based solely buyer comfort levels. A pretty unscientific way of valuing.

·2 months agoNothing wrong with that website if you have something of value. I doubt the OP has much to work with in terms of value and their buyer for their records probably is not a serious collector.
@lisa479124 One thing you could do is lot up the same or similar artists or genres if you are going to insist on listing online. I still think looking for a local record store for a possible buyout is your best option. If you said you had a bunch of records from the 80s hair bands, we'd be having a different conversation.

·2 months ago@lisa479124 Most records from that era are worthless. There are some very specific genres that can have a little more value. The other factor is condition is everything. Record buyers are very picky. If the record does not play properly or you oversell the condition at all, you will have an angry buyer. If the records have ever been stored in a basement, I'd donate them. That environment is very hard on records.
If you want to see this through, you can spend time looking them up on eBay. Be sure to check the sold comps, not just what sellers have them listed for. If yours are in worse condition, they will be worth less.
If you have a record store in your town or one close by, many will offer you something for the whole lot with the hopes they will find a decent one in the lot. That would be worth looking into.
