Need Help Identifying Civil War African American Officer Tintype | Collectibles & Art

We are stuck trying to identify this sixth plate tintype photograph of an African American combattant. Does anyone recoognize the uniform. Note the three row buttons, epaulets and three buttons on each sleeve. We were thinking that it was a possibly a militia uniform but are uncertain. Anyone info would be greatly appreciated.
