A guide for sellers. Information courtecy of WIKIPEDIA.
Haddon Hall is an English Medieval Manor House built by the river Wye near Bakewell Derbyshire, England and is the former seat of the Dukes of Rutland.
The origins of the hall date from the 11th century, with additions at various stages between the 13th and the 17th century, the latter was in the Tudor style.
Presently it is the home of Lord & Lady Edward Manners whom are painstakingly restoring "The Hall" to its former glory, and is open to the general public.
The Haddon Hall Pattern was designed by John Wadsworth [1879- 1955].
The bone china wares were made at the Minton pottery was located on London Rd, Stoke on Trent, England.
The distinctive decorative pattern is inspired by tapestry's hanging behind the high table & bench within the banqueting hall.
Haddon Hall china was first produced in 1938 and production halted because of lack of interest, too expensive for the middle class, and the threat of war.
When production re-commenced John Wadsworth's signature appeared on the MINTONS understamp 1948 -1950.
A new MINTON crest was created in 1951 with John Wadsworth signature of which is still in use today.
MINTON merged with Royal Doulton in 1968.
Royal Doulton was taken over in turn by the Waterford-Wedgwood group in January 2005.Royal Doulton is part of the Fiskars Corporation, which also owns Wedgwood, and is still part of the Fiskars family of brands today. In 2015, Fiskars acquired 100% of the holdings of WWRD Holdings Limited, including the brands of Royal Doulton, Wedgwood, Waterford, Royal Albert, and Rogaška.

·2 years agoIt's a little strange to disgorge a flood of information about pretty niche china that you found on WIKIPEDIA?!
Had you discovered a new resource for Minton collectors or a (workable, comprehensive,) way to look up shape, decor, paste and thrower/painter numbers, I'd be curled up with popcorn.
Sorry, man. We all have wiki.

·2 years agoWhat is your question? After looking through your post and then looking at your listings, it appears you are just advertising things you are selling on ebay. I'm pretty sure that is not allowed on the discussion boards. You might try creating a blog and posting it on the world wide web on Google.

OP1 year agoHi There sonomabarn67,
Maybe you read my posting in a different way, I am definite that I am not advertising, I am helping people with queries and I wrote this for them. I have over 2000 pieces of Minton Haddon Hall green trim. the pieces I am selling are to trim down my collection to eventually end up with a 8 place setting + serveware.
I confuse people even now because they cannot understand what I saying in conversation, after all, I am an Englishman from Manchester.
Kind regard to you,
Jack

·1 year agoAdvertising can appear in many different forms with the ultimate ad placement coming from a car company about 10-15 years ago where they just showed a California coastline I believe, and made no mention of the car they were trying to sell. Wait, Manchester? Did you know Daphne Moon from Fraiser? 😀 Point being that there have been so many subtle trys that I can't count them.
