MCM wood figure
Hello all. I'm stumped by this piece. It's super MCM and very solid and well made. It's got a mark on the bottom but I can't figure it out for the life of me. I think it says "Sasha". Does this ring any bells for anyone? I also have an elephant in the same style with the same mark. Any clues as to who made this? Thanks!

OP1 year agoI've looked up that individual and it's actually spelled Sascha. I dunno, just strange that these figures are so well done and marked but I can't find anything about them.

·1 year agoProbably there are more out there somewhere by the same sculptor but many of these were made by local craftsmen who could have been anywhere in the world. And since they are from the mid 20th century pre-internet, hard to find if only a limited number were made to begin with.
I've spent years trying to track down the artist or origin of items with no luck. But don't give up.

·1 year agoIt would really help to have a nice clear close up of just the mark as well as the other mark on your other sculpture.

·1 year agoI agree that the mark is "Sasha." The second one is much clearer as it was filled in with white paint or marker.
