Hello I have ebay pictured and google lensed.

I have found out this an "All the Trimmings" style item

I just can't figure out what a SNIFF CVR is

It will surprise you when, five years down the road you have something in your hands and a bit of history, translation from the Chinese, general observation on Japanese lacquerware, comment on German porcelain glazes, thoughts about early American mail-order, you-name-it, that you read here is just the bit you need to decide to buy or sell a piece.

You will see another thread here, from 2022, that the OP recently resurrected in order to add a correction, because she knows that people use these threads for reference and she didn't want misinformation in the thread.

Anyhow, there are moderators to decide if a thread has anything inappropriate in it or should be closed to further comment for whatever reason.

Longaberger went out of business a few years back, sadly. The famous seven-storey "basket building" sat empty for a few years, then was sold to someone who was going to turn it into a hotel, that fell through, and I don't know the status now.

Oh snap! I did not know they went out of business.

I was a distributor in the 80s and still have over 30 baskets left in my collection. It's been whittled down from a number I'm embarrassed to admit I had, lol. Love eBay! Everyone of them sold for more than I paid!

Do you know if anyone is repairing them?

I sent a basket in for handle replacement ($35 repair cost in '95) and I have another one that needs the handle repaired.

i wonder if some basket makers from Dresden are still around doing repairs from home.

Bankrupt in 2018. I think the brand was sold to Xcel Brands, and I think they may sell on-line. Worth checking.

I know nothing about the baskets and other Longaberger products. I am simply a huge fan of "novelty architecture," so I know the building. Cost $30M to build and it's now falliing into ruin, so far as I know.
