This is the plug. The bottom of the base is brass followed by the fluted glass that has a gold leaf under it. The feathers are also brass. The bases of the candles and the center are brass. It needs a cleaning, but I didn't know if I should "shine up" the brass. The long piece that holds the shade telescopes in and out and can extend an additional 8". The set screw that holds it up can be seen in the first photo. When extended it looks like a buffet lamp. I don't use it often, because of the room it's in so never worried about the style of bulb. I
know candelabra would look much better even without a shade change.

It is glass, but I don't believe it could have been a shade. It seems too narrow and heavy. Knowing the personality of the relative that had this, I also believe it's not a pieced together lamp. But, if I was certain about that I wouldn't have tried getting help with identification.
I can tell you only what you probably already know: The shade does not go with the lamp. Those three-arm lamps with mock candles either have a small shade for each arm, or a single shade which allows the "candles" to be seen, like these:
Sorry I can't be of more help. Your lamp just looks a sort of standard three-arm table lamp, to my eye, with nothing specific to it to identify it, with no marks anywhere (which you would have mentioned).
Thank you for taking time to answer. I know this lamp is at least 70+ years old. I always loved the glass base. I just have had trouble trying to find any with the same glass and feathers. Most of the three arm lamps have only brass bases and look more candelabra-like.

·3 years agoWhat is the gold material? What does the plug look like? The bulbs used should be candelabra bulbs topped with small shades as Maxine said.

I would not polish it as once the patina is gone its gone. Let the buyer do that.
There are example after example of items that were cleaned on the Antique Road Show that are now worth a lot less as collectors want the old patina.
Any casting marks on the inside of the base, assuming that is visible or can be accessed without damaging it?

·3 years agoIs the base glass? if so the base is made from a lamp shade, probably not a company made piece.
