Is having a COA from PSA/DNA necessary for selling type 1 photos?
I have several type 1 rare historical photos that should be no problem to sell, but the only true comps found weren't on eBay. I was able to find recent comps from two different auction houses, and I listed my photos at 40% under the recent average sale prices, but only a few have sold. Three years ago I had great success selling these same type of pics (and same subject) on eBay without COA's. I'm unsure if the lack of COA's, the loss of interest in the subject matter or the slow economy is the reason my unsold photos are languishing. What's the general consensus?
As far as PSA/DNA certification and encapsulation VS selling them without, my prices being wholesale and selling on eBay give enough advantage to the buyer that I can't justify the expense. I know the source and am 100% sure of the Type 1 photos I have. My buyers from years past have had no claims otherwise.

·3 years agoAre you referring to the NASA photos you've listed? I do see several recently sold original NASA Kodak listings in the Seller Hub Terapeak Research group that appear (sorry if this is wrong) to be in the same category as yours, but the selling prices were considerably lower than your current listing prices:

OP3 years agoI sold two several months ago. The other lower price comps you saw are either NOT type 1 photos, and/or NOT Red Numbered on A Kodak Watermarked paper and/or a smaller size. The four re-listings of mine from today are basically clearance priced, IMO.
