Help to set price on 20.5" Viking glass vase
Hello, I have a pink satin Viking glass Epic six petal swung vase that's 20.5 inches tall. I see smaller versions of it, but nothing this tall. How should I price it? Thank you.

·7 months agoBtw, the sticker adds value to it as many Viking vases cant be 100% authenticated without the tag or sticker The clear label tells us it is a newer vase probably made by Dazell-Viking Glass Company, a revival of the original, around the 1980-90's. This also might explain the frosted color, as a move away from the mid century styles & colors

·7 months agoAfter you have listed it and can gauge the interest, then decide if it will do well in an auction or not. My approach is, set buy-it-now high, see what happens, then if no buyer consider an auction. But if you get very little interest, then no point in running an auction as not a lot of bidders. The hard part about your item, I've never seen a frosted one in person, so I don't know how popular it will be, most are the vibrant oranges and reds. It's unique, but is it more desirable?...that you don't know yet

·7 months agoWith swung glass the taller the more $$, and just an inch or two can make a huge difference. Do you know for sure its Viking? New they had tags. Might see a seam on the bottom. The swung pattern plays a roll, too as that makes for a slightly taller vase
I really think the frosted glass is unique, and being taller more unique. But price comes down to how desirable . You could have the only one, but if no one likes it or wants it, then you just have a pretty vase.
That's why I suggest listing to gather info from buyers, I wouldn't want it sold quickly, and you'd love to see offers, that will tell you buyers want it and at what price they can pay.
Just looking at our collection, nothing on a pedestal over 19", one flat base 23"
As you know, great pictures and "pop" goes a long way when selling these items

OP7 months agoThere is a sticker on the bottom that says Viking. You're an experienced seller. What would you think if I listed this as an auction? I'm fine listing as buy it now too. Thank you!

·7 months agoVery pretty vase. They are all unique mid century art. Over 20" has a premium. I don't have a dollar number, but what ever you are comfortable with list it much higher...you want to gauge the interest in it. If too high you will get offers. Always know you are looking for that one buyer, what will that one buyer pay? You don't care about six buyers who all agree on a lower price.
The frost glass, is not as common as the colored, the orange and reds, my initial thought is $175-200. Unless you find comps, I might list around $225...if it sells fast, then dang, too low. If it doesn't sell, you are gather interest and info for a later listing
