collectable coins
Are there any parameters for those selling coins? I'm seeing vendors trying to sell "collectable" coins. There are a number of sellers trying to sell common US coins for astonomical prices. Pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters that are only worth face value are being advertised for as much as $25,000.00 each!
Does Ebay do any monitoring to stop vendors that are trying to swindle potential buyers?

·6 months agoThere is no real alternative to buyers knowing what they buy and buying what they know.
If buyers rely entirely on the seller to determine what something is worth, those buyers have no basis to judge whether they are getting a good deal or not, particularly if they do not vet their sellers appropriately in advance.
Buyers that doubt their ability to distinguish a genuine article from a counterfeit or a good deal from a bad one should only consider purchasing from trustworthy sellers that have an established reputation for delivering exactly what was described, and should avoid deals that are too-good-to-be-true, or deals that are offered by inexperienced sellers that might disappear soon after the transaction is made, or else be prepared to get items authenticated by trusted sources within thirty days to be able to take advantage of eBay's money back guarantee.

·6 months agoIt seems like the coin category has a lot of sellers who list and sell items that are not what they are advertised to be. Therefore, when shopping in that category, and actually any category as well, buyers need to be armed with a lot of knowledge.
No one employed by eBay sees anything listed on eBay (other than authenticators for higher dollar items). That's the reason eBay offers its Money Back Guarantee for buyers. ALL buyers, as well as ALL sellers, need to read it and understand it.
