Chinese Porcelain Ginger Jar is it a Dynasty Jar?
I was told this was a Chinese porcelain dynasty ginger jar and wondered if that is correct. Can anyone tell me what the Sinograms (Chinese Characters) on the bottom of jar translate to.

·3 years agoSorry, this is a definitely not a genuine period piece…the style and artwork are no where close to the Qing era examples. It is a very poor copy and made for mass export probably during the Republic era.

The piece looks newish to me, not of the period; maybe 1950s - 1970s, based on the decoration.
The jar is missing its lid, by the way.

·3 years agoThe marks are the reign mark for the Qianlong period (1736-1795), but I don't know if this is of the period, or a later reproduction. It doesn't look very old to me, and the decoration is a different style from the period examples.
