It's hard to tell from your photo if you have a color print like this one https://www.meisterdrucke.us/fine-art-prints/Joseph-Noel-Paton/904012/Blessed-are-the-peacemakers.html or an etching that's been colorized. Do you see indentations around the perimeter of the image? What does the blind stamp read above Paton's signature (not sure if the signature is original?) There is foxing in the margins so it may be old.

·2 years agoThe embossed stamp looks to read VUG in the middle and the words encircling it are illegible from my end.
I bet someone in this brain trust will have some info on it.

OP2 years agoThank you for your help. The signatures look original, and I believe the mixed method mezzotint.
It certainly is old and thankfully was well stored.
I'm going to contact the Ashmolean Print Rooms and see if they can help as well.
This is a great start!
