Can I please get help identifying and pricing the art work?
 
 
 
 Hello, I have this beautiful work by W.J. Alais entitled “ Beati Mundo Cordeâ€
I think it might be from the late 1880’s.
It is signed in pencil by Alais and also by the engraver Noel Paton.
It measures 32†x 26†and is in good condition.
My intention is to see it but need help pricing since I’ve never seen one in color. Any help would be appreciated.

·2 years agoAre you sure this is not an engraving after an oil by Noel Paton. I am not an expert but the works appears similar to Paton's.
Other engravings after Paton are currently on sale on Invaluable. There are 4 from one source closing within a week.
The condition of your print and current price levels might not justify the efforts required to have it properly restored.
The creases and staining or foxing (I cannot tell which from your images) would need to be dealt with if anyone cared enough to want to own the print. So the value you might receive for it would probably be reduced by the cost of restoration.

·2 years agoYou have been provided with the information necessary to do further research to do the pricing. Search the web and see what printsellers/ auction houses sell the same or similar print for. If someone here says it's worth $500 and it brings just $40, why you might take exception to that. The prices are out there and since you are the seller, it's sort of up to you. Good luck.
