EIGHT MONTHS AGO I HAD A TEXT THAT BECAUSE I HAD 8 CANCELLATIONS LAST YEAR I WAS NOW RATED BELOW STANDARD AND I HAVE TO PAY ABOUT 25% FEES. i HAVE TALKED TO EBAY THREE TIMES AND THEY TELL ME I HAVE 2.48% DEFECT RATE AND IT NEEDS TO BE AT LEAST 2%. FOR 8 MONTHS iVE NOT LOST ANYTHING. THATS A LONG TIME AND i AM NOT LISTING MUCH BECAUSE OG THE FEES AND ALSO EBAY TOLD ME THEY ARE PUTTING MY LISTING LOWER OR MAY CANCEL ME! WITH THE PASSAGE OF 8 MONTHS iM CURRENTLY CARRYING 5 DEFECTS STILL. AND ANOTHER DEFECT DOESNT GO OFF TILL MID SPETEMBER. I AM SERIOUSLY THINKING OF JUST DOING ETSY BECAUSE MY BROTHER DOES BETTER ON THAT AND SAYS THE PEOPLE ARE MUCH NICER. BUT IM USE TO EBAY AND WOULD LIKE TO DO IT UNLESS THIS GOES ON ANOTHER COUPLE WEEKS. ANYONE HAVE THIS PROBLEM?

·4 months agoThe likelihood of recovering from Below Standard ratings is poor until 12-13 months have passed unless you have been cancelling listings for many months.
It has been a long time since I sold on Etsy, but IMO it is the worst site to sell "vintage" antiques and collectibles that has ever existed. Many Etsy "buyers" use it like Pinterest and favorite items and organize those favorites into collections. Other sellers band together in groups and buy from each other - a marvelous social experience but not a lot of money being passed around.

·4 months agoI can empathize because we had a massive cold freeze that year. I wasn't able to ship out my eggs during this time, so it resulted in late and canceled orders. I now post the temperature range for safe shipping and have long handling times in the event that a customer purchases during extreme weather (even with my post). It makes this very difficult to manuever around when circumstances beyond your control occur.

·1 year agoMost other internet marketplaces would have removed your ability to sell with 8 cancellations on your sales volume.
Ebay is more tolerant of bad sellers, because it wants their money.
They will not be too upset if you go elsewhere.

·1 year agoIf eBay is telling you you are close to having your selling privileges revoked, it’s probably a good business plan to find another venue.

·1 year agoNo. We didn't cancel 8 sales so we don't have this issue. Perhaps you shouldn't cancel so many either.
