OP2 years agoI thought of Mitzi Gaynor, but she didn'thavethe beauty mark on her left cheek. But it sure looks like her.

You are a genius! 🙂 I do believe it is Mitzi Gaynor. I spent a good amount of time last night looking into this because her face was so familiar to me, but I couldn't find anything. I was determined so I kept looking ... I put in Bonanza, actress from the 50's with a birthmark, whatever I could think of and found nothing. I was so determined because I was sure I would know who it was when I saw the name.
I never saw her in anything but she was well known back then. My mom used to buy a ton of movie magazines (remember those?) and I loved reading them. I was sure someone would know, so I checked back today. Mystery solved, thanks!

Glad that you agreed with my deduction -- Mitzi Gaynor's most famous film was SOUTH PACIFIC from 1958, which is shown frequently on Turner Classic Movies (TCM) -- check it out sometime!
Both my wife and I were puzzling over that photo for quite some time -- in fact, I had even gone to bed, resolving to figure it out on the following day. But I suddenly flashed upon the cover of a magazine which I had sold a few months ago, which I then had remembered as being of Mitzi Gaynor.
Admittedly, the beauty mark had me stumped for a bit; but many of her earlier photos depicted her with the mark, which may have been removed in later years by plastic surgery, or simply layered over with make-up.
And, at 92 years old, she's still kickin' -- way to go, Mitzi!

Funny how we both went back to it the next day. It bothered me because I'm usually good at face recognition but it just wasn't coming to me. Of course I always loved Rogers & Hammerstein's music and familiar with South Pacific but didn't know it was a movie, much less that she was in it. Will check it out.
The beauty mark had me stumped too as many pictures don't have it, but as you mentioned, she could have had it removed or covered up. It reminded me of how Sarah Jessica Parker had her famous mole removed after Sex & the City ended. I saw on You Tube that Mitzi is 92, still cute and still around (and no beauty mark!) 🙂

·2 years agoTry searching the name of the airline which is on the side of the airplane. I tried in another message to your post and it was removed as spam. Calif is also a clue.
