·2 years agoI have one signed by Kicking Bird Also.. It is made of local clays in In Tennessee, molded. You can find the info on the web if you look up Kicking Bird Pottery.

·3 years agoI would guess the top and bottom of the statue are made of carved Jasper. Maybe he used Clay in between.

·3 years agoI can't say, either. But, to my eye, it also looks molded, from a model done originally in clay. It would help if OP could give us an idea of the weight in relation to the size, whether the surface feels warm or cool to the touch, and other hints as to material.

OP3 years agoThe statue stands 8.5 inches tall and weighs 3 pounds 14 ounces. The surface feels slightly cool to the touch, unlike the sensation when touching granite or marble. When I tap on the wings, there is a hollow sound, similar to the sound of clay material, while other areas produce a solid sound, suggesting that it was likely molded. The craftsmanship appears to be quite intricate, with fine details on the statue's features. However, I am still uncertain about the specific materials used in its construction

·3 years agoAt that weight and feel, I agree with ArtPottery that it's made from one of the resin and stone dust compounds, so my initial reaction that it's molded is also right.

·3 years agoMaybe, and I'm far from an expert, but I see what look like lines and layers, which one never see in granite (an igneous rock).
