USPS TRACKING THE ONLY WAY TO SELL ON EBAY
Summary: moderncoins999 expressed frustration over buyers on eBay claiming not to receive coin shipments, despite buyers messaging they did receive them, leading to refunds without seller support. shire123 suggested that shipping with tracking is essential to avoid non-delivery claims and prevent losses, as eBay and other platforms prioritize proof of delivery. tobaccocardyahoo and another participant shared similar experiences and acknowledged that some loss is inevitable in mail-order services, emphasizing the importance of tracking. The discussion diverged into a lighthearted exchange about spelling, with participants wishing each other success.

·Jul 20, 2026 at 10:05 PMThat is not just true on Ebay. It is true on the internet, and true on any mail order business.
That should not be a revelation in 21st century, but it is amazing how long it takes some people to see it.

·3 weeks ago24 July: Hola tobaccocard ...! Well said. There will be risks in mail order business. The Alt Heron started a mail order business in 1970. Hobby items part time. Remember back when the numismatics newspapers offered free advertising for a 3 month payment for the newspaper? Heron had some experience with mail order biz. And using registered mail does not stop the thievery. One shipment in particular (from Fla to Slovakia) was stolen at the Moscow airport. Heron does not know the details, only the fact that the USPS paid the insurance to el Heron. The insurance paid for about 85% of the cost of items being shipped. Then in 1995 Heron began his full time hobby business selling at expos. Not much biz with mail order. Then in 1998 Heron started on eBay. Lost several transactions using regular First Class mail. This was written off as part of doing business. Folks that use mail for their business should be aware that sometimes there will be a 'loss'. It happens.

·1 month agoIf I can make sense of your post, your title says it all. The best protection from non-delivery claims is to ship with tracking. Yes. It costs more but that's really the only way to prove delivery. If you cannot prove delivery ebay will refund the buyer every time.
Pictures are never proof. They are too easily modified.

·1 month agoI don't know if you have a different selling account but the account on this thread only shows 1 negative feedback. Overall, feedback looks pretty good.
Yes. Tracking definitely costs more. But it is the only way to cover yourself from Not delivered claims. Either pay it or accept that on occasion you will lose any claim.

·Jul 20, 2026 at 11:17 PMRight, doesn't matter what is said in messages, without tracking showing the item was delivered, the buyer will win an INR.
