·8 months agoWow smedley you lit a fuse with that thread...Ka Boom!
Yes I have enountered more slow shippers as of late. As long as I get it within a reasonable time I OK with it though.
If I want it fast I do not order it on eBay. Patience my friend, patience...................

that's what happens when someone who doesn't have a clue thinks they do...

OP8 months agoright off this ebay help page https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/shipping-items/delivery-date-options-sellers?id=4086&st=3&pos=5&query=Delivery%20date%20options%20for%20sellers&intent=1%20day%20shipping%20example&lucenceai=lucenceai&docId=HELP1127
If you offer 1-day handling, remember the timeframe isn't based on 24 hours: it's the end of the next business day. For example, if a buyer pays for your item on Monday, it needs to be scanned by Tuesday, 11:59pm. If an item is bought on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, it needs to have tracking added by Monday, 11:59pm.

·8 months agoAlthough I try to ship either the day of or the day after I make a sale, I allow myself a three day shipping window. This allows me time to take an extended weekend away and give me time to pack and ship any items sold without being pressured to get them out immediately. As long as the seller ships within their specified handling time there's nothing to complain about.

OP8 months agoi checked... nope...

OP8 months agoi buy frequently... seldom do sellers take this long to get items in the mail...
tracking starts when a label is generated... mail gets picked up every day mon-sat... mail gets scanned when it gets picked up... i very seldom buy anything that requires a trip to the post office...
it's not hard to understand... i've been buying and selling on ebay for almost 30 years... i think i have an idea of how things work...

·8 months agoNo, it doesn't as of the December memo that all Post Offices received.
Items get scanned at the DISTRIBUTION center and NOT at the local PO anymore (some still do it, mine does, but I won't be alarmed when they stop)
So, buy on Sunday with 1 day handling.
Seller sees sale on Monday and prints label- has pick up NEXT DAY (Tuesday, which is 1 day handling from Monday)
Post office picks up Tuesday, takes to local PO. Truck comes Wednesday and takes to Dist Center.
Dist Center 'scans' that day or the next day, which could be Thursday.
So, Sunday purchase, 1st scan Thurs on a 1 day handling will be (or is) the new 'norm'.

OP8 months agoi'm aware... that has to do with packages dropped off at the post office...
if you ship from your house, as a lot of sellers do, the carrier scans them at pickup...

·8 months agoAs I've done over 2000 times since 2011; but what I'm saying is: THAT WILL SOON CHANGE

·8 months agoYou have an "Idea", a belief on how things work on ebay. Things on ebay should work the way YOU believe they should work. Not all Sellers work under YOUR beliefs. You also have a History of telling these Sellers HOW they should be running their Business. It shows in these Neutrals you've left over time. Ebay Sellers do not operate under YOUR conditions, YOUR specific requirements. Even one of those Sellers basically told you to F Off in his response to your Neutral. That was a very reputable Seller who truly did nothing wrong.
Stand up. Unpucker. Pull the Cob out. The world does not revolve around Smedley.

·8 months agoI got purchases from over 7 days ago that still haven't shipped, but after this I will just go to Amazon from now on since most is dropped-shipped from them anyway, you are going to **bleep** eBay.....

·8 months agoI bought an item a few months ago that claimed "1 business day" handling time.
Ordered Sunday. Monday was a holiday. Nothing tuesday. Label generated on wednesday.
I asked the seller what was up? Because I thought 1 day handling time was what was advertised. His response? "Monday was a holiday".
Some sellers are just like that. You gotta look at their feedback before you buy and read what people say.
stainlessenginecovers
·8 months ago@kibble-net Ordered Sunday on a Monday holiday is the SAME as ordering 'Tuesday' as that is when the seller may see the sale.
NEXT DAY is Wednesday.
So, I don't see where you had an issue??
kibble-net
·8 months agoBasically they sat on my order for almost two entire business days.
According to ebay's guidelines, it should have shipped out Wednesday. You are correct about that. However, it didn't get picked up until Thursday because they didn't generate the label until Wednesday evening.
I guess I take it for granted that if a customer had placed their order with me on Sunday (and Monday was a holiday), I'd have shipped it out Tuesday morning.
*smedley*
OP8 months ago1 day shipping time would be Tuesday, not Wednesday...
your orders page tells you when you need to ship by in order to meet your metrics...
hotwheelsbum
·8 months agoNope. 1 (ONE) Day Shipping would be Wednesday, not Tuesday.
Bought on Sunday. Sunday is not a Sales Day when it comes to Shipping.
Monday is a Holiday. Not a Sales Day when it comes to Shipping.
Sale on a Sunday with Monday being Holiday, next actual "Sales" Day would be Tuesday. Item was actually sold on Tuesday when it comes to Shipping deadlines.
One Day would be next Day, Wednesday. SAME DAY would be Tuesday. One Day is Wednesday.
Not that hard to comprehend.

OP8 months agook, then why when i have sunday sales with 1 day shipping, does the orders page says ship by monday? HMM?
you people act like i'm making things up and are arguing simply to argue...
stainlessenginecovers
·8 months agoBecause you must have Sunday as a business day, which you can choose.
I've had 780 weekends selling here and ALL orders that comes in Saturday or Sunday are counted as Monday.
Monday is day 1. I have 5 business days and must ship by the following Monday.
hotwheelsbum
·8 months agoThey don't. You just have a belief they do. You sell something this coming Sunday, the 18th, you have until Tuesday the 20th to get it Shipped. Not Monday the 19th, Tuesday the 20th.
If you THINK it will say anything else, like Monday Shipping, it will not. You have it made up in your mind that it is going to say MONDAY. It will not.
Prove us wrong. Go sell something this Sunday. Sacrifice something. Take a $50 item, a HOT item, put it up for $10 Sunday morning. WHEN that $50 items Sells for $10 ON Sunday, come back to us showing that you are required to ship Monday with your 1 Day handling time. If it shows Monday instead of Tuesday, I'll make up the $40. My bet, I'm going to still have that $40 in my pocket coming Monday, Tuesday.
Challenge On. 😂

Just curious ... what did you order that 2 days made a difference that irritated you enough to post here?
Could the delay be the result of backlog from the holidays?
tobaccocardyahoo
·8 months agoYou have no way of knowing when the sellers mailed the item.
Most sellers do not wait on line at the PO to get a scan.
60% of all POs have only one trip per day to the nearest sorting center, and the sorting center does the scanning for over 90% of the packages. Scans are now one to two days after the PO has the item.
Most of my Friday and Saturday ships were not scanned until Tuesday.
USPS changed their delivery metrics to add 2 days to shipping time so everything takes longer, unless it doesn't.
Buyers who babysit their purchases should expect to be disappointed. Buyers who bust the chops of sellers over it should expect to be blocked.
soh.maryl
·8 months agoDid they arrive on, before or somewhat after the EDD seen in the listing.
How do you know they "could've easily been in the mail by Saturday"? Do you have knowledge of the seller's personal situation? Our local USPS closed at noon on Saturday for example.
hotwheelsbum
·8 months agoWhat were these Sellers handling time? Did they have til Monday / Tuesday / When? to get items to the USPS? Was Monday within their Handling Time?
I sell something today, Wednesday, my handling time gives me til Saturday to get them shipped. If that Buyer has an issue with me waiting til Saturday instead doing it tomorrow, Ehhh, that's their issue. Not mine.
