Report of fake coins
Summary: Discussion focused on a report about fake coins, initiated by ihavecents-2. However, all participant responses (moderncoins999, ed8108, and bethnrick) contain only the word 'None', resulting in no substantive conversation or details being provided about the subject.
I reported a fake coin on eBay and they came back with "Not against our policy. This happens every time something is reported. I guess everyone but me can do whatever they want. I have had listings removed for policy violations immediately. I tried to sell a coin for over 2500.00 not under lots and the listing got removed immediately. But yet other sellers can sell for any amount they want by just listing the coins as graded by NGC and PCGS. They were not graded by them, there is no grading slab to prove it and no certified numbers. As for the fake coin I reported it was a 1877 Indian Head Penny with a buffalo on the Reverse. These pennies do not have a buffalo on the Reverse, it is a Laurel reed. But it isn't against eBay policy, Right?!

·4 months agoSadly, eBay does nothing when fake coins are reported. I've been reporting for years and the story stays the same - nothing done... Don't waste your time reporting, but DO learn about coins and counterfeit detecting.
