Detection of Counterfeit 2023 & 2024 American Silver Eagles.
American Silver Eagle 2023 & 2024 counterfeit coins being sold on ebay. You should suspect any American Silver Eagles of the above years that are being sold for less than $35 dollars. If you suspect that the price is less than above for these coin. Request the seller to provide photo verification of the US mint production. The 2023 Silver Eagles have a notch at the 3 o'clock postion on the reeded edge. The 2024 Silver Eagles have a notch at the 9 o'clock position. The notch is located by viewing the coin looking at the walking Liberty side of the coin.

·1 year agoI just purchased a 'real good discounted' Liberty Eagle Silver Dollar on E-bay. Supposidly came from a US seller but took weeks to get here (from China). Well as I was ordering more, something told me to take the
coin out of the plastic case and look at it. It looks a flat grey, and there was a missing notch on it. After googling about a missing notch I found this article. The notch on my coin is at the 3 o'clock position, not the 9 o'clock. I threw down the coin on the table and then threw down my real silvers. It definately sounded different.
I am relieved as I almost spent $200 on FAKES!!! Gosh, you can't stay ahead of them... Thanks to all who
have put this info. out there.

·2 years agoThere are some sellers (big sellers that are known outside of Ebay) on Ebay that can be trusted that i would suggest buying from if you are looking for silver. When you purchase from some sellers that are not known, you have no idea what you may be getting into. Also if someone is selling silver far less than spot, that may be a red flag as well. Also stay away from buying from China as many should know.
