I think others covered your points well. I would just add that the book back you have for sell is NOT eligible to be shipped via Media Mail. You should fix that.

Am I correct in my inference that (your term) standard mail means "stamped mail?"
You wouldn't have these problems if you shipped with tracking.
And in fact, YOUR OWN "about" page invites trouble when you claim, "SHIP CHEEP WITH A STAMP ANYTHING UP TO $20."

·3 weeks agoTo bad about Philadelphia moderncoins999. Maybe someday someone will clean it up.
Around here it's called 'mailboxing' by the m***-heads. They open your mailbox (on the road) and grab everything inside (hoping for cash in a birthday card or something I guess.)
It's one of the reasons we have a Post Office box.

·3 weeks agoLooks like this is a making of your own doing. You have decided that its safe to ship coins with a stamp "up to $20" and it sounds like this policy has come home to roost. I'm amazed sellers would consider this as a viable option given the fact that there are less than reputable buyers out there - and yes, there are porch pirates too. To boot, you adopted this policy thinking you can wash your hands of any responsibility when it gets lost or stolen in transit.

·3 weeks agoShipping without tracking on cheap items is not a bad business case. The math is pretty simple. Sellers can save a pretty good amount on postage, which can absorb a fraud rate that just isn’t going to happen. Those sellers just need to bake in more false item not received claims and someone with tracking would.

·3 weeks agoAgree: It makes sense and the math is simple. Where I go unsympathetic is when a seller adopts this policy and then does not take responsibility for the loss when it occurs and then comes to the community to air a perceived injustice.
