OP2 years agoHola Smedley...! Well, it is a good time to start a paper birthyear collection. Heron started about 20 years ago and only has 18 items now.
If you start whilst you are young there will be time to find a bunch.
And good luck, if you decide to start a paper money birthyear collection. A collection within a collection and a fun type collection.

·2 years agoyoung is relative... on a military-based social media group tonight, i wished good luck to a young person preparing to start boot camp... my own journey began over 40 years ago...

OP2 years agoForty years ago...! Amazing how time flies. Heron was in basic training during summer of '56. Now cannot remember much except rowing as part of the 'Company' boat crew. We lost our first 3 races because of no coordination. Every rower was moving to a different tune. However, we did very good after the 3rd race. The life-boats for basic training were some old solid wood 26 foot Monomoy boats. Very heavy. Heron also remembers the huge south N.J. mosquitos. Wow those rascals could bite. First instinct is to swat. However, that created a big problem with our white uniforms, ha!

·2 years agoPaper would be a tough one. How would you designate or prove a ND?

OP2 years agoHola Koindog. Heron will explain how he handles the ND paper money situation. Heron's rule is: paper must have a date onnit. Preferably the year of issue. Heron recently found some French Indo-China notes that would fit nicely into the birth-year collection. But they were ND notes. So Heron had to 'pass' on those nice notes.
