Paid, Messaged seller, No reply, Seller deleted account, Item not yet shipped, Need my money back.
I purchased an item from a seller. I noticed the seller did not accept returns or didn't have any prior reviews. But the only reason I went ahead with the purchase was because the product was covered by E-bay's Money-back Guarantee. As soon as I made the purchase, I messaged the seller through Ebay to ship the item as soon as possible because I required it urgently - no reply.
The next day, I got an update from Ebay saying that the seller has deleted his account and the listing. Now I can't contact him. Furthermore, I can see through tracking that the item has not yet been shipped from the seller. I also browsed through Ebay to find another similar listing posted today that has the same product (description slightly changed but exact same product), and the same exact two pictures that were used in the listing that I purchased. Posted from the same exact country too (Spain). The seller again is a new user (created a week ago) without any prior reviews.
I reported the new listing to Ebay because it is highly likely to be a scam. But as it stands, from my view, I have made the payment, the item has not been shipped, and considering all what has happened, I want my money back.
What do I do? What should Ebay do?

OP5 months agoAnyone with any experience cancelling an order/ or requesting refunds (FYI I still have the cancel order option because the item hasn't shipped).

·5 months agoYou should contact eBay and get your money back, reporting a seller which you "assumed" is a scammer is not a right thing to do for new sellers, there are many who have just started and want to grow their business.

OP5 months agoI understand your point of view. But to not reply to messages, and at the same time to delete your account completely is absolutely irresponsible.
I did wait for a reply and would have waited longer, but now the package hasn't shipped, And the seller has completely vanished.
