Grey Villet Life Magazine Proofs
Hi,
I recently came across a few photographs which I am assuming were proofs for Life Magazine. The photos were taken by the famous Life Photographer Grey Villet and are related to the story "Sugar Ray Robinson's Impossible Battle" which came out in the December 19, 1955 edition of the magazine. This was based on the Robinson-Bobo Olson fight. The photo that's scanned shows Robinson shadow boxing to the enjoyment of Joe Louis. The back of these photos have the Life Magazine copyright stamp as well as the details of the photo. I was wondering is there much value in these type of photos? I look forward to your opinions!!

·6 months agoI don't see an actual copyright statement in the images you posted. I assume these were never intended to be circulated. I wonder if "Reproduction Forbidden" has any legal meaning?

OP6 months agoThe Reproduction Forbidden statement is what I was referring to. I was thinking that it meant the photo belonged to Life Magazine and no one else could use the image.
