Ya i recently was scamed out of 2000$
The add read 3003 honda golding 1800 cc trike for sale good condition with 20100 mile when I answered the add they gave me a ebay web site that looked real as any I ever saw it said pay with gift card not being the wiser I bought the cards and gave the info as soon as I did that the add disappeared but moment's later came back on linebut under a different name when I told her who I was the name changed again now at present she on h er 4th name and it is graysonmarlene@gmail.com please do what you can to shut her down

I'm sorry you were scammed. They used a really cheap price to see if you would bite, and then "eBay" to hook you.
You should Google eBay VPP and eBay gift card terms.

There is nothing eBay could do to shut it down.
The best you can do at this point is to report this to the site where you found it.

Would you expect to find a designer hand bag on the Wallmart site, with the sale to be completed on the Marshall Fields site? That is about what happened to you. You found the Gold Wing on Craig's, Marketplace, Let Go... etc. So why would you expect ebay to have anything to do with the sale?
Yes the scammers do a decent job of making up official looking eBay invoices, but an experienced ebay buyer would notice the things that are wrong with it. eBay does not have holding/warehouse facilities. The only thing ebay sells, is space on their site. Even their branded packing materials and gift cards are sold by 3rd parties.
The item numbers on the invoice are often 11 or 13+ numbers long, whereas an ebay item number is always 12 numbers long. The order numbers are often given with no hyphens and do not have 12 numbers in them. eBay also does not have 800/888 phone numbers or ones from the San Jose area code. If you call the numbers on a fake invoice you are speaking to a confederate of the scammer, who will of course assure you that every thing is above board.
The only thing you can do is to report the listing to the site you found the Bike on. Unfortunately it will probably pop up again under a different seller's name and/or on another site. For future reference:
A low selling price + a sob/immediate need to sell story + sale protection from another site = SCAM

·3 years agoThere is no one on ebay for ebay to shut down.
These ads are on Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, Offer Up etc etc. and they are on there by the 1000's.
Lesson learned; $10,000 items do NOT EVER sell for $1200.
