WTH is going on here on Ebay?
I buy a set of 1000$ wheels using Buy it now and the seller sends me a message telling me that the item sold on another platform and he doesn't have it. He cancelled the transaction but now I have a debit on my Credit Card??
Then, same day, I buy a Dewalt Drill for like 89 bucks. Then [foul language removed by moderator] cancels that order and says that there is a problem with my shipping address.
Out of hundreds of Amazon transaction you know what? There is NEVER a problem. Here? Every transaction
is as bad as Wal-Mart.

·2 months agoIf the seller cancelled your order before the payment clears, it still has to clear with your bank before it can then be refunded. This can take up to 2 weeks. Also for a $1000 purchase your bank has likely frozen your account and you will need to confirm the charges soon.
For the drill, if it is a brand new item still for sale in the store right now, it's a drop shipper. You will buy item, they will then order it from Walmart with your money and place a pickup order, and then they will send it via Walmart delivery person. The money they make off shipping charges goes into their pocket. This is why they will usually have $100+ shipping charges as they profit that extra cash because they are not sending it in the mail. If they can not get a local courier to pick an item up from the store and drop it off at your house (no local store in your area or too far away) the order will be cancelled.

·2 months agoReview feedback and profile for location before purchase. If seller has no feedback or bad feedback then select another seller. If the profile states another location outside the US then don't buy from them. You will be getting a credit eventually to your credit card. I would suggest keep talking with your credit card company to make sure you are credited and don't owe anything by due date. Amazon can and has had problems. I have a family member who has dealt with 3 issues with Amazon in the past 3 weeks. So Amazon isn't issue free either.

·2 months agoSeller probably found out they would not receive the funds for 30 days and no way they could ship those for $40 and decided to cancel.
Since those funds are being held, they have to pay the refund.

The seller who listed the Wheels & Tires had never sold anything on ebay before. It's not unusual for new sellers to think it is OK to list items on more than one site. Even had they not done that, because they are a new seller ebay would have placed a 30 day hold on the seller's payment, and most new sellers do not know about the hold or how to deal with it.
Because the seller cancelled the transaction a refund should have been sent, but because you have not received funds from ebay before, your bank has probably placed a hold on the transfer until it is verified, usually 3-5 days depending on when the transfer was posted.
As for the issue with the drill, if that seller was a new one as well, they may have cancelled either because of the payment hold, or if the listing was an auction and $89 was a very low price for that item, they may have cancelled because of that.
You've been an ebay member long enough to know that you should check each seller's feedback profile before buying from one and Never to go by a feedback percentage alone.

OP2 months agoI bought a Ceenr 8ah Lithium Ion battery from [Removed by mod]. Got the package today. Its a cheap chinese knock off battery in yellow in black. Its not even close to the items they have listed. Sent email no response.
Ebay is allowing blatant fraud. This guy has probably 20 listings for CEENR batteries. I doubt he has even 1. Blatant fraud.

·2 months agoIf you have received the Ebay notification of the order cancellation (not just a message from the seller) your card will be credited within a day of two.
You apparently do not know how to select Ebay sellers, and what is appropriate to purchase on this site.
These folks are on borrowed time, and there should have been telltale signs.
Report the seller who claimed there was a problem with your address.
If the other seller cancelled for out of stock, you need not report him, he is probably already on his way out.
