Wrong address by seller
Seller hand written the shipping label with wrong address on my paid order, so I never received my order ! Seller’s ‘Delivered’ receipt also indicated item delivered to that wrong address! I paid that missing item $33.55 and seller refunded only $21.00 in cash by mail! The balance seller owed me is $12.55!!! But seller hiding behind email message without responding. What to do? EBay closed my case upon seller’s ‘DELIVERED’ receipt not caring where my item actually delivered to. I have no way to contact EBay, I tried!! What to do to recover my money of $12.55 seller owed me? Thank you for any help in this issues.

OP3 years agoYes, just now, I contacted PayPal and gave all info regarding this case. Also sending document from USPS scanning system as prove showing item sent to wrong address (although it was in my area code) and that I didn’t received item. PayPal is going to investigate and Mark this seller NOT BE ABLE to use PayPal for her future transection method. I am glad this case is somewhat resolved for now. I copied your links to contact EBay if I ever came across problems such as this. Thank you for all your help and time to respond, I so appreciated you. I learn everyday! Now I wondered how can I avoid future scammer sellers online especially on EBay!😌 Thanks again and have a wonderful weekend.

·3 years agoeBay is supposed to catch if tracking shows delivery to a differnt zipcode than the one on the address you gave at checkout. It doesn't always seem to. Below are instructions on how to deal with it if it is the same zipcode, which has links on how to appeal. You might want to get something in writing from the carrier to confirm that it was NOT delivered to your address based on the location of the delivery scan since eBay can be rather dense at times and you have to hit them over the head with the evidence.
eBay will believe the carrier rather than the buyer (or seller). If the online tracking report for the tracking number shows delivery to the same zipcode (5 digit) as what the buyer gave for the shipping address, it will presume it is to that shipping address. That presumption is rebuttable by documentation from the carrier that it was not delivered to that address (the document does not have to give the actual address but merely state it was delivered elsewhere than [your shipping address] since there might be privacy issues). This covers errors by the carrier in mis-delivery (the carrier can tell this by matching the GPS coordinates of the delivery scan with the facts on the ground) and a scamming seller who sends a low value package to another address in your zipcode. See here about appealing the decision if the carrier can document such a problem: https://www.ebay.com/help/buying/returns-refunds/appeal-ebays-decision-return-missing-item-buyers?id=4039&st=12&pos=2&query=Appeal%20eBay%27s%20decision%20about%20a%20return%20or%20missing%20item%20for%20buyers&intent=appeal&docId=HELP1308

OP3 years agoHi there, thanks for your insightful info. EBay posted that my case is closed and cannot appeal although I read their policy that I should have 30 days to appeal, it has been only 13 days so far! I guess there is no other ways to get help from EBay. I think the seller is a scammer and sent something other than my auction purchase to a different address same zip code to avoid sending me the real item and made me paid for the scam shipment $ fee knowing EBay will not check further and closed my case instead! The seller shop name is: Brogans.treasure.
Today I have the documentation from USPS-postal master regarding this parcel and it’s delivered address. I was advised to submit this document to claim my case but EBay closed my case and not allowing appeal?! Still looking for a solution regarding this matter.
How to avoid seller-scammers in the future? This is the first time I came across a scammer on EBay. Very discouraged with online purchasing. Wished I could find a way to settle this matter and weed out scamming sellers.

·3 years agogo to your payment source (e.g. PayPal, credit card issuer). Most will have some protection for ordered items not being delivered.
Other than that, you can take eBay to arbitration. https://www.ebay.com/help/policies/member-behaviour-policies/user-agreement?id=4259#18
