Winning a bid
This keeps popping up now & again for anyone who queries it? Can't pay by PayPal in 3 on winning bids etc??
Anyone winning a bid or just buying an item, can pay by PayPal in 3.
1. First delete your normal payment method (usually by visa card etc.)
2. Now add a PayPal account or choose preferred payment method by PayPal in 3.
Now you will pay for all items through PayPal in 3

Are you talking about PayPal "Pay in 4"?
If you are required to put up a payment source in order to make an offer or bid, PayPal Pay in 4 will not be an option for you. Either will PayPal Credit, Google Pay, Apple Pay, Spendable Funds, most Gift Cards, along with other options you can pick from if you DON'T have to provide a payment source in order to proceed. eBay wants a method they can hit up for Auto-Pay.

The next time you win an auction, or your offer is accepted by a seller requiring autopay
-- PayPal will use another way to pay from your PayPal wallet to autopay eBay
-- to which you agreed when you clicked Agree and Continue
because Pay in 4 is not allowed for autopay.
