    Will buyer receive his refund for the return of the "damaged" item if the seller found it different

    A buyer received an item. He opened a return case "item damaged" with no specific statements what was the nature or extent of the damage.

    His seller documented in his reply to the return case that there was no specific statement what was the nature or extent of the damage. He stated that based on the photos provided by the buyer, the item was good and as described.

    Then the seller accepted the return (what else could he do?). The seller paid for the return label.

    Then the seller received a "somewhat" different item or intentionally damaged (broken) item from the buyer. He replied to the subsequently provided by ebay form, where he stated that the item was NOT in the condition as it was delivered to the buyer nor in the condition shown in the buyer's photos.

    QUESTION: will the buyer receive his refund?

    @your.garden

    Yes. And it's better for your Seller Metrics if you issue the refund... not have eBay force it.

    As a Seller, you can dispute the return and should report the buyer separately if they are abusing the system. Just make sure your listing is clean, good communications and that you are following all guidelines.

    That does not mean you will get reimbursed, but it is the process going forward. (If you want to dispute the return)

    Yes...buyer will receive a refund. Not all buyers are honest. It's always important to check feedback of a buyer to see if buyer had any problems in the past. Photos and filming won't really amount to much other than a waste of time.

    And block this buyer is best one can do.

    It's probably important to specify that, when checking buyer's FB, as recommended, the only FB that it would make sense to check would be that FB that the buyer has left for sellers.

    Buyers cannot ever receive negative FB.

    I think for the most part you are correct but you might be surprised on what you may find. It does not take but a few seconds to scan feedback (left and recieved) that might show a pattern or issue.
