WHY IS THE FEEDBACK STATUS GONE FROM THE PURCHASE HISTORY PAGE AGAIN!!!!!!

·2 years agoFrom the Seller Hub page click on Myebay Selling
On the next page ( Myebay selling overview page), click on the Sold #
Then you will see each item you sold in 90 days (or 30 days if you selected that #) There will be a notation on each item sold if Feedback has been received. A bit more convoluted than before, but you can see if you have received Feedback.

·2 years agoI completely agree with the original author of this post. Why remove this information? It was quick and easy to see the status of your order for feedback and shipping. I feel inclined to not leave feedback now since I don't know if feedback was given after I gave payment promptly.

·3 years agotrue they don't care I had a point where I negative feedback on a seller that had 100 positive as he gave the wrong item and never replied so had to go to PayPal to get the money back but eBay removed the negative feedback off the sellers feedback section and still has 100% even so they must want him to keep his positive ratting eBay must be now censoring the feedback so they can keep those 100% sellers still here even if there is a problem
The item was a drape weight that was so thin and only weighted .05 oz it would not even keep a piece of paper from flying off the table and it was about the size of a penny

·3 years agoI could not agree more. I leave feedback for a seller than discover they could not be bothered to do the same for me. Ebay has lost it big time.

·3 years agoI was wondering the same thing.. And now because of it I don't leave any feedback either which is unfortunate because many do deserve it.

·3 years agoNoticed this issue myself a few weeks back... I'm guessing it's either something ELSE crookbay have managed to break recently; or, it's apparently their idea of an 'improvement'... at this point, it really could go either way!
Personally speaking, aside from the obvious loss of functionality & ease of use the little icons provided, this new 'format' honestly just makes the purchase section look butt-ugly... still, as the OP themselves said, it's frankly just one more reason not to bother any longer with this site's farce of a 'feedback' system..!
Side note - Also, not that anyone from ebay will likely ever read this, but, just on the off chance...
STOP FREAKIN' ASKING ME TO SIGN IN ABOUT A BIZZILION TIMES A DAY - IDIOTS!!! 😤
Whew, sorry... just had to get that out my system, thanks.

STOP FREAKIN' ASKING ME TO SIGN IN ABOUT A BIZZILION TIMES A DAY
That might be caused by several different things -- using a VPN with a dynamic IP-address, using a hotspot, or using certain privacy settings might result in repeated sign-in requests. Blocking cookies (including third-party cookies) or using "Tracking protection" might also cause that or make it difficult to go through sign-in or verification. Or a corrupt cookie might cause that issue; in that case, try manually erasing just your eBay cookies and see if that makes any difference, or try another browser as a test.

OP3 years agoeBay splitting up the Status Indicators from the same page would be the same thing as taking a car's Fuel Gauge off the Dashboard and relocating it to the Trunk underneath the carpet.

·3 years agoI agree, no easy way to tell if feedback has been left or not. eBay programmers are making it hard to do to leave feedback if it can be done at all. just spend more time doing feedback then shopping for more items. eBay programmers you goIng to lose money. I see no good reason either to remove the feedback shipping and paid icons from the orders page makes no sense give us the option to have them or not eBay.

·3 years agoI agree with the original poster...
I've been on eBay for 20+ years as a buyer and seller...
As a buyer I only leave feedback after the seller has left feedback, I will not leave feedback first as a buyer...
As a seller I always leave feedback first and then send 1 or 2 friendly reminders after the item arrives to the buyer that I left positive feedback and their feedback would be appreciated after a week or so if feedback hasn't been left...
Under the "old way" it was so much easier to track feedback left and received, packages mailed by seller and received by buyer instead of having to cross reference every purchase and sale individually... Everything was neat and easy to read all on one page for each item...
rlwieneke
OP3 years agoAbsolutely, EVERYTHING for each individual item was visible and all together in one place.

·3 years agoI am with you. on eBay since it started. I just spend a half hour looking for that very page, to no avail. what a PITA.

·3 years agoAnd I mostly agree with you. As a seller I leave feedback upon receipt of payment, and as a buyer, if the seller hasn't left it by the time I receive my purchase, I assume they don't care, so I don't bother.
But I never solicit feedback from my customers. If they want to leave it fine, if not, that's fine, too. I've seen that result in negatives being left on an otherwise perfect transaction.
When someone purchases my items, they do not enter into an agreement to leave feedback. Frankly, I am sick to death of getting bugged for feedback on nearly everything I buy online, or if I make a call to customer service. And to clarify, I am NOT talking about eBay, as I rarely (if ever) get asked for feedback by eBay sellers. I'm talking about everything else.
minions
·3 years agoThat's how I do it also, as a seller I leave feedback once payment is received... I completely understand your reasoning about the buyer not entering into an agreement to leave feedback... Gives me something to think about as a seller... Thanks...
pranhorse
·3 years agoI also agree with the OP. I thought maybe I had accidentally changed something in my profile when I noticed the missing icons a few months ago. Having recently sold several items, I wanted to see who had left feedback before I left it for them. That has always been the rule with my account; You leave me positive, I do the same for you. Now, I have to search my own feedback page and make note of which buyers have left feedback and which have not and then send a friendly reminder to those buyers who have not replied. And as the OP said, from now on, I will not leave feedback until I receive it. Why should I bump their numbers up while mine remains stagnant? Poor choice by ebay programmers and I really see no benefit in the change.
onepunchproductions
·3 years agonot to get off topic, but your feedback philosophy is flawed. You mentioned that you had sold several items, and were waiting for buyers to post feedback first before reciprocating. Nonsense. Once the buyer has paid, they have fulfilled their obligation, and the SELLER should post that feedback first.
kathiec
·3 years agoAs long as we're off topic, your feedback philosophy is just as flawed as the one you're criticizing. Feedback is optional, always has been. There's no right or wrong way to leave it, or not leave it for that matter.
rlwieneke
OP3 years agoI DON'T CARE about your opinion of the efficiency of feedback. Here is the issue: I do Not want to have to go to a different page and waste time searching for feedback for a specific item amongst all the other feedback when it used to be displayed right next to each item. The issue is NOT if feedback is displayed but where it is displayed. If you can't stick with that specific issue I just disregard anything off topic you say, it is irrelevant..
rlwieneke
OP3 years agoAbsolutely correct: once the Buyer has paid, the Seller is OBLIGATED to leave feedback first because the Buyer has fully participated in the transaction at that point. The Seller should base the Buyers feedback on if they did or did not pay and how prompt they were with the payment.
blaze_jun
·3 years agoHi, totally agreed with you, this was downgrade from eBay... this is a headache. This makes eBay different from other stores, the trust you get from the feedback you left. You have to promote and encourage people to leave feedback, not the other way around.
kaneshirocchi
·3 years agoFully agree with @rlwieneke that Ebay shouldn't have changed the format to remove the feedback status. But Ebay shouldn't have removed all the other information as well that was grouped together (shipping status, paid status, feedback received/left, tracking, etc) on the same page. Ebay needs to adhere to the KISS method (Keep it simple ......). Why make the Order details page more inefficient by forcing buyers to click on multiple pages or tabs to locate the information, instead of having it all in one place like it did previously? As others have mentioned, most likely buyers will be leaving less feedback as a result, which is unfortunate because as a buyer I rely on the seller reviews prior to making an informed purchase. And yes, I also concur with @fami-19 that it is indeed comical and farcical that many are unable to comprehend what @rlwieneke's point is.
rlwieneke
OP3 years agoAs of 12:23 pm central time, ebay has now also removed Paid, Feedback Sent and Feedback Received Status from the Orders section at the bottom of the Summary Page. They left a new shipping status over each item. So now the Orders section of the Summary Page is just as useless as the Purchase History Page and there is now NOWHERE to see Paid, Shipped, Feedback Sent and Feedback Received all together in one place.

·3 years agoThey want to keep the buyer s and sellers in the dark, so they can continue collecting fees. I don't know if you remember what they did to the seller dashboard YEARS AGO, but it was at the same level.

·3 years agoyes I agree with the TS that this feature should not have been removed. As a buyer, I always wait until the seller has posted feedback before I post it. Thats the way it should work. As a buyer, the minute I paid for my item, I have fulfilled my obligation. The seller should post feedback that I was a timely payer, or whatever. Upon receiving that feedback, as well as receiving my item, I will then post appropriate feedback for the seller. And if I purchased 15 different items, I am not going to go to my feedback profile and check 1 by 1 who did or didnt leave feedback. I should be able to look at the bottom of the "my ebay" page and see at a glance what the feedback status is for my open purchases. Otherwise, I simply just wont post feedback anymore.
rlwieneke
OP3 years agoTotally agree with you. Going through the feedback only shows you feedback left and then you have to try to figure out what feedback was NOT left. So much easier looking at it all in one place on Purchase History as it was before and not all the way at the bottom of the Summary Page.
gosimus
·3 years ago@onepunchproductions
< As a buyer, the minute I paid for my item, I have fulfilled my obligation >
Imagine for a minute that you're selling some high end items, and a buyer purchases one and pays immediately. By your measure he has fulfilled his obligation, so you give him an enthusiastic, glowing positive feedback. And you ship out the item.
Two weeks later that same buyer opens a Not As Described case. Your only choice is to accept, and when the return package arrives you open it to discover a rock instead of that Bulova wristwatch you shipped out. You balk on the refund, but eBay forces the refund, out of your account of course.
But the buyer fulfilled his obligation. Didn't he.
rlwieneke
OP3 years agoObviously you have no grasp whatsoever of the fact this post has absolutely NOTHING to do with the feedback process itself or fraud. It is completely focused on ONLY seeing the "STATUS" of Paid, Shipped, Feedback Sent and Feedback Received all together right next to each other along side their associated item. Please refrain from DISTRACTING from the topic of this post by commenting about FRAUD that you have suffered and comment about that issue in an appropriate subject post elsewhere.

·3 years agoYour frustration about eBay's removal of the status icons in the orders section is understandable. I miss them, too, although perhaps not as passionately.
onepunchproductions
·3 years agothats what the "follow up feedback" function is for
gosimus
·3 years agoOkay, if that's the way you want to do it. But the fraudster would still retain credit for the positive feedback, and once that feedback rolls off the first page less than one user in ten will even see the Follow Up that contradicts the original comment. But I guess it's better than nothing.

·3 years agoI agree with you, I want the feedback feature restored!
I am a Seller here and want Buyers to be able to see at a glance whether they've left feedback or not. Only about 1/3 ever leave it to begin with and I doubt they're going to jump through hoops (even if it takes little time) to determine this. The net result will be that even fewer will ever leave feedback.
BAD MOVE, eBay!

·3 years agoA buyer can very easily check whether they left feedback or not. On the top of the purchases page there is a toolbar, click on "Ready for feedback" and it will show what items they have not left feedback for.

·3 years agoIt is exceedingly clear and easy to find and follow, no hassles at all for buyers, I just don't understand this ANGRY reaction to this simple task, I like it better than before, more streamlined like the Seller Hub all in one spot.

OP3 years agoLet me explain this AGAIN for like the third time. Before you could see Paid, Shipped, Feedback Sent and Feedback Received "STATUS" all together next to each individual item on the Purchase History Page. Now in order to see the same information next to each individual item, I have to scroll 10 Miles down to the bottom of the Summary Page past all the Offers and all the Watchlist items that are on the same page above Orders. The solution would be to give Orders its own page and eliminate the Purchase History Page.
rblizz
·3 years agoWhat's "easier" about having to jump from page to page instead of have all information "summarized" on one page? Good grief.

·3 years ago@rlwieneke,
Have you opened your order detail page? The essential transaction status info is on it.
The feedback status may not be there because feedback being voluntary action, it is not considered as a part of the transaction. From your summary or purchase history pages on the Activity line is your username w/ your feedback number on the right side. Click on your feedback number and your profile page will open a quick look will tell you if you have received feedback or not. There is even a search box you can copy and paste the item number to, to see if you have received feedback for an item if you have done a lot of buying. It takes about 2 seconds to open your feedback profile page to check that info. There is also note at the top of your profile page letting you know if you have items to leave feedback for that has seller's username in it so you can quickly scan your latest feedback to see if they have left you feedback.
"Every ebay member "buys" feedback every time they buy or sell an item".
Show me where on ebay it says that!! None of your purchases will say you will receive (item listed and feedback) on the listing pages.
rlwieneke
OP3 years agoThis issue is about Why ebay removed the Feedback Sent, Feedback Received, Paid and Shipped "STATUS" from the Purchase History page. It is Not about where else the status of those aspects can be found. It is NOT about Feedback or your opinion of Feedback. If you cannot stay on point with the Posted Issue (that being: Why ebay removed the Feedback Sent, Feedback Received, Paid and Shipped "STATUS" from the Purchase History page) I will no longer respond to your comments.
mudshark61369
·3 years ago@rlwieneke,
"This issue is about Why ebay removed the Feedback Sent, Feedback Received, Paid and Shipped "STATUS" from the Purchase History page".
Since none of us are ebay employees, but members like you, how do you expect us to know why ebay removed the icons? All we can do is give opinions on why they may have removed them. Maybe they felt they were superfluous since the actual transaction info is on the Order details page?
What I and others have written about feedback is not opinion but fact. eBay does not consider feedback to be a part of any transaction.
rlwieneke
OP3 years agoOne of the purposes of these forums should be for the platforms associated with them to be monitoring them for users to post issues the platform needs to correct. If they are not monitoring the forums, that eliminates part of their usefulness. I've ALREADY responded to you "Off Point" comments so I will no longer respond to them.
rblizz
·3 years agoThey've also removed the tracking information from the Summary page. You have to go to orders page for that now. Don't they understand the term "summary?" Why can't they just leave well enough alone?
eburtonlab
·3 years agoUse the "Tell us what you think" link on either the Purchase History or Summary page to let the page developers know your opinion directly.
Both pages have gone through multiple revisions lately, and if enough users express an opinion it is possible the missing options may be restored.
campanaelia
·3 years agoAre you buying feedback? What is it good for? And why all CAPS, are you stressing over this?
IMO feedback is a waste of time, buyers can receive positives only, and ebay removes negs and neutrals for sellers at the drop of a hat. The ratings can no longer be used to vet a buyer or seller. Hopefully the loss of functionality is a sign they are phasing it out.
rlwieneke
OP3 years agoIf that is your opinion then this issue was of no concern to you and not only did you have no business commenting on it but you wasted my time commenting on it.
rlwieneke
OP3 years agoEvery ebay member "buys" feedback every time they buy or sell an item. So what is the point of your question.
campanaelia
·3 years agoFor real? Feedback is voluntary for buyers and sellers to leave, it is not mandatory as part of the transaction. If you don't receive it you will not be refunded either.
rlwieneke
OP3 years agoYou are not addressing the Posted issue regarding the Status Indicators being removed and I am disregarding everything you have said
.

·3 years agoIt looks like they changed the purchase history page. The feedback icons are gone. Anyone ever figure out how to get the old page back?

·3 years agoWebpage designers to the rescue
Ebay favors change , this can help provide buyers & sellers with new challenges, increasing complexity, & possibly boredom reduction.
safan80
·3 years agoEbay favors money, not change. They create UI changes to make it look like they are improving the site. Ebay takes away things that wrong so people will not complain about increased fees while taking away the user's ability to call in. Does everyone like it when ebay asks for your bank account in the USA, but let's sellers in other countries slide?
rlwieneke
OP3 years agoI'm in the United States and they've never had any of my bank account numbers, only a credit card.

·3 years agoFeedback is optional for both buyers and sellers.
rlwieneke
OP3 years agoThat isn't the issue. The status for: Paid, Shipped, Feedback Sent and Feedback Received was on the Purchase History page for YEARS and they took it off.
pburn
·3 years agoIf that isn't the issue, then why would you not leave feedback? What would leaving or not leaving feedback have to do with how eBay software developers design the page? They're not even aware of whether a member leaves feedback or not. Refusing to leave feedback certainly doesn't "punish" or even remotely affect eBay's webpage designers.
Changes to webpage design happen all the time, to keep pace with new software developments and to accommodate new technology like mobile devices. I can't think of one website that still has pages that appear as they did even two years ago.
black.bird.bomber
·3 years agoyou still missing the point. I understand where there pain is coming from. It is a quick reference to see who left you feedback as a seller, and in turn can reciprocate the feedback. It can also helps you save time because you obviously only spending (valuable) time returning feedback to buyers.
To say its software and new times is just not a plausible answer.
It's with the latest software / apps that have the power to run any feature with a little tweaking.
rlwieneke
OP3 years agoYou are the one missing the point. It is about viewing the "Paid" and "Shipped" status also, NOT just feedback. This issue is NOT in an app, its on the website.
fami-19
·3 years agoIt's stunning and a bit comical that so many people are unable to comprehend your clearly stated point. Like you I will no longer post feedback until this issue has been corrected.
eburtonlab
·3 years agoCheck the Orders section of your Summary page; currently I still see the feedback icons there.
rlwieneke
OP3 years agoThat is exactly what was on the Purchase History page that they took off. Now the Purchase History page is useless and this is a pain to get to. They either need to assign Orders it's own page so I don't have to scroll a mile down the Summery page past Offers and Watchlist to get to Orders or put the information back on the Purchase History page. Thanks for showing me that.
rlwieneke
OP3 years agoAnd the PAID and SHIPPED Status is gone also !!!!!
