Why is Ebay Backing China Sellers with a lie in there post there location
Summary: kesto-7057 expressed frustration with eBay, accusing it of enabling dishonest sellers, particularly those from China, to deceive buyers. mudshark61369 offered a detailed guide to identifying foreign sellers, highlighting various indicators like vague item locations and unusual feedback patterns. medical2010texas appreciated these tips but acknowledged the difficulty in avoiding Chinese sellers due to their competitive pricing, while stressing the need for eBay to offer better protections. The discussion focused on concerns over the transparency of seller locations and the challenges buyers face.
I guess Ebay dont understand a listing with a lie in it is a dishonest seller. That dishonest seller
dont care about treating you right there lying to you before anything starts. Thats my view on this
and ebay makes it hard on buyers and easy for China Seller to rip us off. You cant argue
with facts . I dont need to here from a Ebay Rep and dont want to hear from them .

Don't worry about that -- actual eBay employees very seldom show up here and, if they do, they are easily identifiable.

eBay allows China based sellers to register as being in the U.S. and many do ship from chinese owned warehouses in the U.S. Because of that it can be hard to weed them out.
There may be indications on listing pages, or on a feedback profile page that can tell you if a seller is actually a U.S. based one or not. Below is a list of things I use to weed out foreign sellers. If you search using Price: Lowest or Best Match you are very likely to see items from China based sellers first. I search using Time: ending soonest or Newly listed.
On Listing pages:
Items priced below brand named prices.
An item location address that does not give a city and state Ex: USA / United States, New Jersey / USA, Hebron, Ky.
The use of U.S. flag symbols and several mentions of being a U.S. seller.
Seller's username sometimes.
Selling items listed by many other sellers, often using the same stock photos.
Other items for sale showing they list in many unrelated categories.
High volume seller with a feedback percentage below 98.6%
Item titles giving a brand name, and photos showing a brand name label, but in the Item Specifics it says Brand: Unknown or no brand given.
Items for sale with no name or an unrecognizable Brand Name.
Item descriptions that have wording in them that doesn't seem like it was written by a person whose first language is English.
The use of metric and standard measurements.
Photos with Asian models in them.
On a Feedback profile page:
The seller's country of registry, sometimes.
High volume seller registered between 2012 and now.
All or most feedback is for Private listings.
Hundreds of neutral and negative feedback. Some may still have a percentage over 99%
Neutral and Negative feedback saying items came from China. That took a long time to arrive. Missing items from multiple quantity orders. Cancelled purchases. Poor communications. Clothing smaller in size than normal. Many mentions of poor quality items. Mentions of items not being delivered. (click on the numbers of neutral and negative feedback received, to read only those comments).
Responses to negative feedback written by someone whose first language does not appear to be English.
It may take a little time to use the above lists, but after a while it becomes second nature, and in the long run can save time and possibly money.
Since I created the lists, getting to a sellers feedback profile page has become harder than just clicking on their feedback number. Now you have to:
Scroll way down a listing page until you see the seller's username in a large font. To the right it will be a few comments, and under them a See All Feedback button. Click on it. On the page that opens you will see the following line above some comments.
Click on the switch back to classic view That will show you the box with the number's of neutral and negative feedback a seller has received. Those numbers can be clicked on to read only those comments. To see their most recent comments,
Once the classic page opens in the same location as the Switch back... button is:
Click to change it to Most recent otherwise you may see comments from Last 6 months or over a year ago first.

·2 weeks agoThanks you so much for these clues. When "I" control vendor I accept and payment method I feel better. It does not mean you can totally skirt our Chinese friends. We go for their low prices from endless labor, and some that are almost as good as US brand.
Guitars for instance. Our US companies have their low end and middle products produced in China. We can get those for almost 1/3 the prices. Recently the hiring of Fender guitar Master builder in the Chinese Market, sends a message. They produce more in a month that all the US Manufactures do in year. We enjoy that but we want it problem free. So we contribute to the beast. But I will be damn if I want a run on credit card or spend $500 for a picture of guitar. So Mia Culpa Mia Culpa. However if EBAY wants to enjoy the income from our Dice Rolling Purchase, I would greatly appreciate more than a place to choose a product. I can get that on Craigslist.

No 'Ebay 'reps' in here. Should be easy enough to check the shipping details for the items location, and the length of the shipping time.

Now that's done.....Maybe do as I do and just not buy from them in the first place. Easy fix.........
