Why does Ebay not give a refund if the seller does not ship nor respond.
I do not understand why Ebay does not issue a refund when the item is not shipped and the seller is not responding to messages. I ordered a 3 D printer on June 27th - this i July 12th and no shipping information at all and requested a refund - E bay says seller does not want to refund?? Why should he if he can just keep the money! Ebay now says I have to wait until July 18th for any response. I did do this using PayPal but they have to wait for a response from Ebay. This is just so wrong! Ebay does not care about it's buyers!

And the answer to that ^^ question (?) is that eBay doesn't 'give' refunds. Here, sellers give refunds. Good luck.

Here's the link to the Money Back Guarantee if you'd like to familiarize yourself with it:

It sounds like you're trying to be refunded before the estimated delivery date has passed - if I'm reading this right. That's why paypal has thrown your case back to ebay. At this point, it would be a good idea to read ebay's MBG policy so that you have an understanding of how things work in your situation. Ebay will not get involved on your behalf until the estimated delivery date has passed. It has nothing to do with ebay not caring about it's buyers, it's just their policy. Your post has gotten the attention of two of the most knowledgeable people on these boards in @albertabrightalberta and @soh.maryl . I suggest you heed their advice.

·1 year agoBecause you went to Paypal, ebay is no longer involved.
When you have an issue with a purchase, the order of steps is the following. Do not proceed to the next step until after the one before it is no longer an option.
1. Open dispute through ebay. Wait for resolution.
2. Go to Paypal (if that's where you paid)
3. Chargeback with c.c. company -- this should be the last resort and done only after you've exhausted dispute options through #1 and 2.

·1 year agoWhen you made your purchase, you saw an estimated date of delivery. Has that date passed by at least one day? If so, why not simply open an item not received case per eBay's Money Back Guarantee for buyers?
Or, have you already done that according to the rules? eBay "says seller does not want to refund"? Have never ever heard of that.
If eBay says that you have to wait til July 18th for a response, it sounds like July 17th was the last estimated delivery date. If that's the case, then eBay's "seller does not want to refund" means you have not waited long enough for your package to arrive.
Have you read eBay's Money Back Guarantee for buyers? It can be very helpful when a buyer has a problem.

·1 year agoEvery order shows an estimated delivery date range.
If the estimated delivery date has passed, go to your order and in the dropdown box, click on "I haven't received it."
Seller will have 3 days to respond with a tracking number showing delivery. If there's no response, go back to the claim on day 4 and in the dropdown, ask ebay to step in.
You'll get the refund.
Under no circumstances should you close the case if the seller promises a refund if the case is closed. Some sellers claim that ebay won't let them issue a refund while a case is open. That's a lie and if you close it, you won't get your refund.
