Why delivery from china take this long?
Summary: ahsan423 shared their surprise about a two-month delivery timeline for a purchase from China. Several participants, including eburtonlab and lady_madonna, advised avoiding purchases with long shipping times and suggested checking delivery estimates beforehand. mudshark61369 mentioned that long delivery times might be due to pre-release items, while grann-4629 explained the logistics of container shipping. powell-collectibles noted that lengthy lead times can be expected with certain shipping methods, and ahsan423 acknowledged they learned a lesson from this experience.

·3 weeks agoNot seeing the estimated delivery date happens to the best of us. I admit that I rarely look at it – but I don’t buy a lot of things that will take a long time. I don’t buy from China – they don’t really have the things that I would buy on eBay. Not much you can do at this point – you just wait it out.

The only reason an item coming from China would take 2 months to be delivered to your country, Pakistan, is if you bought a Pre-Release item. Meaning an item that is not yet on the market. eBay has a rule about those items which is they are not supposed to be listed if is more than 40 days from the Manufactures given release date. Many of us here in the U.S. do not buy from China because they sell counterfeits or copies of items they are asked to manufacture for a foreign country. They may make them, but are not allowed to sell them outside of their country.

·3 weeks agoTwo months seems like a plausible leadtime. If the seller can have up to 30 days handling time and a boat takes a few weeks – not really an unreasonable delivery date estimate.

·3 weeks agoBefore purchasing, I always check the estimated date of delivery so that I can choose to not proceed with my purchase if that estimated date of delivery does not meet my expectations.
I also discontinued purchasing from Ebay sellers located in China for various reasons, slow shipping is just one of the reasons.

·3 weeks agoLook at a world map, scale out the distance the package has to travel, then look at the container ship it's on. It will be in one of those 40,000 containers on the ship. Hence, it might take a little longer to get to you.

I tend to avoid purchasing from sellers with long lead times, as there are often much better options available closer to my own location with much shorter shipping estimates.
Some sellers have long shipping estimates because items are coming from far away via slow boat shipment methods, or because sellers are drop-shipping from fulfillment companies that are themselves unreliable, slow or prone to selling out, causing delays.

OP3 weeks agoyeah you are right. i need to do same.
